Just saying for example JaMarcus Russell in 2009 had 48% competition with 3 tds, and 11ints. So you know there was some bad games in there.
    Here Carson Palmer
    Game: 2009 vs. Jets L 0-37
    Stats: 1-11, 0 Yards, 0 TDs, 1 INT, 0 Sacks, 1.7 QBR

Last year, the Steelers had a shot at a bye, with either a 1 or 2 seed, until late in the season. (Losses put them behind KC, and then the league removed the bye week for the 2 seed even if Buffalo didn't move ahead of them.)

This year, if the team somehow manages to get a playoff berth locked up before the end of the season, they have to consider benching Ben (and maybe Heyward, Haden) for 1 or 2 games to get him as healthy as possible for the playoffs. Treat it like an actual bye week, and tell Ben to stay away, or do film study from home. (The league will raise a stink about sitting healthy starters, but after what happened last year, screw the league office.)

Yep. And the salt in the wound was that it was against Cincy. Not like we were going up against a top 5, stifling defense. It was beyond painful.

I remember them saying it was the worst ever but I won’t argue the point. It was very very bad no matter what way we look at it. He should have come off and let Mason have a couple of shots down the field

Sorry. I wasn't trying 2 argue. I was just stating that it was the Qbs THEY decided 2 rate since 2006. Not all Qbs games since 2006.
I was just pointing out the context of the statement.
Because we will now have people looking at that article and saying...Well Ben had the worst game of any Qb ever.... since 2006.

Go ahead and hate on me, but I'd like to see Ben benched the very first game! I think he's D-O-N-E! And I'd give Rudolph a shot at starting. I'm sorry, but with Ben behind center, I feel this is a wasted season. Old, slow, and too proud to know it's over. I think it's ridiculous for you guys to think Ben is gonna be able to play like he did 10 years ago! His time has come.................and GONE! It happens to every player. You all seem to think he'll play forever. I'm ready to move on. There will be life after Ben. Trust me.

Not at all, I know where you are coming from. That game is just etched in my memory as probably the most disappointing I’ve ever watched. That was a horrible Bengals team led by Ryan Finley and we were just never in it

Given that they have already paid Ben $14m to come back I think it’s fair to say the job is his unless he absolutely stinks the place up.

Id definitely like to see Mason brought in for certain packages however. He was throwing some nice deep passes in that last game against the Browns. Whether Ben’s pride will allow that, I think we all know the answer.

Hmmmmm........ I'm thinking the rankings are for passing only. Of course if you have a great RB the QB will look better since he won't have to pass the whole game.

I can totally understand the reluctance to pull your 17 year HOF QB but the guy was clearly hurt and struggling badly. I don’t get why they couldn’t justify the change but we don’t know what was going on behind the scenes. At the time I figured Rudolph was horrible in practice and they didn’t trust him.

The funny thing is week 15 against the Colts in the first half it was more of the same and they were headed for another limp defeat before Ben gave a masterclass in the second half, looking like it was 2016 again.

I don’t know what that means for 2021

And he won't be in predictable 2nd and 3rd and long situations so much.

I get the 17 year qb thing but there are 52 other guys on the team too that deserve better then a guy playing at a 14.6 rating for the game. Sometimes a spark can change a game and spark 51 others to play better.

Florio is totally correct. Every off season story say player X is in the best shape of his life or some other rose colored BS. Nearly every time it's crap.

Reminds me of a story I read in one of the tennis mags near the end of Johnny McEnroe's career how had dedicated himself to working out and practicing. Even had a whole photo spread about his practice routine. He was notorious in how much he hated practicing which was why he played doubles. Anyway, two months later he gave up practicing.

A leopard doesn't change his spots.

So the Tampa Bay Buccaneers should have benched Brady last year when they lost 38 - 3 , and Brady had 3 ints, 0 tds, and a Qb rating of 5.7
No you don't do that unless you are completely done with that Qb. It's their team. You have 2 make sure the Team knows it. They can't be worried about being pulled, but by some of You you would have pulled him ,and No SB. Win 4 you. LoL.

All we need is someone better & the Rooneys will see the light but unfortunately the Steelers aren't there yet.

for the game not the rest of the season. when you are having a bad day and it continues well into the game, chances are it's not changing. i could care less about tom brady. as a coach it was my job to win football games not massage ego's. even the best of them have a bad day sometimes.

Not necessarily if he is just having a bad game. I’m assuming that Ben was injured throughout that period however, he looked off, couldn’t move properly or throw the ball past the sticks seemingly. He was almost certainly hurt and trying to play through it. There is a good argument for letting somebody heal up if that is the case, especially if their efforts are hurting rather than helping the team.

Exactly. That's why you let them finish. Everyone has a bad game, and I believe that game by Brady is far worse than any Ben had last Year.
No matter what the precious PFF says.

Ben and the offense were in a bad stretch and on a 2-game losing streak. Outside of 1/2 vs. Indy, they never recovered.

Not all, but he's the leader of the offense and was clearly struggling.

If the o line is bad ...it's Ben's fault.
If the run game is bad ...it's Ben's fault.
If the Defense is bad...it's Ben's fault for scoring 2 fast.
    LoL.
I have never. I mean never seen a Qb that was the leader in His division with TDs, Yards, and Wins ....including the slide at the end.....Ever take this kind of abuse.
    If You have ...
    Please let me know.

I'm a Steeler fan, not a Ben sycophant.

Wait, you're not Ryan Burr, are you?
