Well damn, Tomlin was right again.

But seriously, the only part I agree with is turnover worthy plays. That was my main concern with MR. He is willing to stand in there but doesn't always secure the ball.

Pickett had quite a few throws that should've been picked but got dropped..... seems a lot like selective grading to me

Wait a second here, in a game that Rudolph completed 18-20 passes and set the franchise record for completing 90% of his passes, PFF gave him a 46.2 passing rating? If this doesn't prove how absurd and ridiculous their ratings are then nothing will.

The networks (the NFL) lists players PFF rankings on the screen during the game.

'Cris Collinsworth is the owner and chairman of Pro Football Focus, an award-winning NBC broadcaster and former NFL player'

The whole thing is very, for lack of better term, incestual.

That doesn't make their bias more acceptable.

And Rudolph had two dropped on him, when he stared down his wr 1st drive in Baltimore game and on a sideline throw in the Buffalo game. We could go back and forth, lol

    Never stated that it did.

    Just pointing out a *fact*.

*fact* being in stars as some members of both organizations do; a continually disturbing problem.

MR has a higher on target percentage than Kenny (82.6 versus 71.6 percent)

and less percentage of bad throws (10.1 versus 18.4 percent for Kenny)

so if anything, MR is more accurate than KP for 2023

The frustrating thing is that these jokers have real influence now. Peter King said recently that he voted for Garrett as DPOY partly because of his PFF grade

There is merit in their work and their grades give you a very good baseline for player performance but there is so much subjectivity and guesswork in what they do that they really shouldn’t be influencing awards etc.

They are not on the sideline and in the locker rooms so they can’t possibly know player assignments, who blew their coverage, who missed their block or ran the wrong route etc. The actual grading is also subcontracted out to people who have no football or coaching background, by all accounts they do a training course and then work to a manual.

One thing I will give them credit for is their marketing. They have managed to hoodwink so many people in to thinking their massively flawed system is the best way to analyse players.

I agree but the NFL fully endorses them and displays players PFF grades on the broadcast during games. They're pushing an agenda.
