Do you think Peyton talked to Eli about how to attack our defense? Maybe telling him things that he noticed when he played us? Yes, I'm sure he had a few things to say about our secondary. But also the defense in general? Just curious what you think. Yes or no?

    I hope Clark can play

I think that they probably do especially when it helps 18 if we lose

I'm sure they do talk about our defense just like I'm sure they did in 08 when they both beat us
Either way, I think we have a better chance against Eli than we did against Peyton by a long shot.

Not sure why they wouldn't talk.

I don't know if they would go over things in any kind of detail, but it wouldn't surprise me if they talked casually about it. I'm sure they want each other to succeed.

Certainly they talk football and how they can beat teams when not playing each other. Bet Archie encourages it since it keeps his legacy alive and they can do even more commercials.

Eli doesn't make the gameplan. The coaches do. They might talk all they want to but I don't think that's gonna have an effect on the play calling because Eli is not the coordinator. I would just guess that what I am saying is true.

A QB like Eli would have a huge say in the game plan for that week. I won't get into details as I'm sure most really don't care, but if you're ever interested in reading exactly what happens behind the scenes leading up to a game, including how they come up with the playbook, game plan, etc. then pick up Pat Kirwins book, "Take your eye off the ball." It's such a great book and should be studied by anyone who truly loves the game. You won't be disappointed, guaranteed.

That sounds like a really interesting book. What I'm saying is that with Peyton probably not knowing all the intricacies of the Giants O he might not be able to give advice that could be worked in to their gameplan. You know what I mean? Also does Eli really NEED Peyton to enlighten him that Ike and Keenan are not really what you would consider premier corners in this league? LOL.

I actually agree with you, that's why I said earlier that I'm sure they talked about us casually, but I very much doubt they went into any type of detail. Like you said, Peyton doesn't know the Giants playbook, at least not well. He might have made a couple comments about how we're predictable, but that's probably about it.
I doubt Peyton mentioned Ike Taylor because he probably has no idea who Ike Taylor even is.

As for the book, I guarantee that if you truly like the sport of football rather than just being a Steelers fan (hey, some are), then you will love that book. TTF has mentioned he has it and likes it as well. It's a very unique book with information that isn't common knowledge.

Yeah I keep up with ALL the NFL it's just that the Steelers are my TEAM ya know? There are other teams that I really like a lot and there are other players that I really like a lot. Of course there are also teams that I HATE as well. That's one of the reasons that I despise Goodell so bad is because he is not just tarnishing the Steeler way of playing football but the whole LEAGUE is getting hurt because of it. Also under his direction the integrity of records set by Marino and Unitas are gonna get eclipsed by scrubs like Stafford or guys that are just average under the rules Marino and Montana had to play under. I think a lot of people will wind up in the Hall that frankly wouldn't even sniff it if they had to play under the pre Goodell rules. Also there will probably never see another Devin Hester type player again with all the kicks going through the end zone now. But yeah I do love PRO FOOTBALL AS A WHOLE and would certainly find that book interesting. One thing I really like was when NFL Network did the "football life" show with Bill Belichik. I thought it was really interesting to see that he calls players in to his office to discuss gameplans with them and then gets his staff together and looks at every little possible detail. Seeing that sorta made me see that things such as "short weeks" can really hurt a team. Given how much detail goes in to a gameplan it really would be hard to put one together. I definitely think it's more than just "go out and execute the plays." Their seems to be so many variables that go in to planning a game.

I'm guessing when Eli and Peyton talk, Eli tells him how to beat the Patriots and win multiple championships.

Absolutely. I think my copy is lost, but yeah, I highly recommend it. I wish he'd write a follow up, or make it a series even. I've got lots of different football books, but there isn't another like this one that I've come across, that takes you through the ins and outs of daily football operations on top of schemes and some x's and o's etc. I can't imagine someone who's a fan of football wouldn't like this.

This is the one I have. Spiral bound with the DVD. There's a couple other versions out there too I believe.

I am pretty sure all they talk about is Direct TV, while eating Papa John's pizza, riding around in a Buick and playing with the OnStar!

No I don't think he will or that he has.....Our Zone Blitz is what it is just like Manning said......I hope we don't use the Zone Blitz munch....Eli will carve it up,,,we need Woodley,Harrison, and Timmons to create the pressure....A early 2 score lead would also help a lot so we can get into our Dime package more.....

I am sure he has, I would help my brother. The Giants always
play us tough. Just as the posters above me have said, the Steelers won't be
changing too much up for this Giant team on defense, its all about matchups
    and execution.
