What do you think that proves? Showing interest is as simple as making an inquiry. That doesn’t mean the cards listened etc. Nor does it mean he’s available or negate what the from office said. Again YOU chose to ignore what the cardinals front office said and continue to hang your hat on what a washed up jock that can talk says.

So is it safe to say that if Peterson isn't traded that no team was interested in winning? :goofy:

Not naming any names here, trying to be nicer, but someone on this series of posts is on the rumble strips again.

Is that a good thing or a bad thing? Is it like 'falling off the wagon'?

Don’t forget the special relationship between the Steelers and Cards that should have made this easy.

    “Heya Bill”
“Hiya Kev, hows my favorite franchise doing?”
“Well, you know how you’ve said that Patrick Peterson isn’t available?”
    “Yup”
    “Well, we want him anyway”
“Aw shucks Kev, since Larry Fitzgerald is from Pitt, and Byron Leftwich was you backup QB for a couple of years, I guess we can work something out. Gosh we’re going to miss him, but you asked... “

I think a fair assessment would be that after the latest embarrassing effort the team put on the he was fed up and didnt want the peak of his career to be spent on a complete rebuild. So he vented to the media but after calming down and being assured by the coach and the front office that it wouldn't be as bad as he thought he releases this statement.

Or possibly he doesn't want to be seen as quitting on the team even though most of the guys looked like they had quit the other night. So he is playing nice until season is over and then will as to be released or traded.

I’m still trying to figure out this supposed great working relationship between the Steelers and the Cardinals. Pretty much every ex Steelers player or coach that ended up there left Pittsburgh on somewhat bad terms.

They were never going to pay that kind of price in draft picks and money and I'm okay with that. Given the price tags involved, I'd rather have Peterson.

Do you have proof that they didn’t?

It's obvious what happened. He wanted out so leaked rumors he was on the block. Dumbass organization didn't take the hint and then they get blown out on primetime. So he had to up the ante and just came out and said he wants out. Even started leaking teams calling about him.

Nobody could factor for the incompetence of the Cardinals organization. You have a leader/veteran openly saying he wants out and you are begging him to stay? Especially when you are nowhere near winning football and he could yield you some solid picks for a rebuild? It has to be the most beta **** I've ever seen. Just imagine if somebody came out and said they didn't want to be in Pittsburgh or New England? They would be traded the next day. Blount just left the field early and got kicked. Steelers won't pay Bell and he won't even dare say that. This right here is why the Cardinals will never be a respectable franchise.

Backtracking about what? I understand when an owner/GM says somebody isn't available. My whole point was.. When rumors like that start about a player like that on a horrible team. It's coming from somewhere and got to be some truth to it. Which was correct because then Peterson came out and openly said I want out. Once that happened, I wasn't factoring on a team begging a leader who openly said I want out to stay around. Tell me how that makes any sense? It would have been perfect for their tank. Well we traded Peterson for picks and now we can't stop anybody. Now I bet these dumbasses are going to try their hardest to win now to keep Peterson happy and screw up their draft position and oh yeah, no extra picks for Peterson. All around stupidity.

You claimed the Steelers weren't trying to get Peterson because they want to remain consistently good, but not good enough to win a championship. You argued that it was due to the Rooney family's interest in parity, as if they would choose not to win as much as possible. It was one of the more ridiculous arguments I've seen on this board.

Now it has become clear that Peterson was never available, thus proving your claim to be false. Rather than just admit that, you are trying to shift the focus to a conversation about the stupidity of the Cardinals. Players don't always get their wish when they want out. Peterson is signed for two more seasons after this one at a reasonable salary. They certainly aren't going anywhere this season, but he could be part of turning things around in 2019 and 2020.

I certainly see the logic in saying the Cardinals should trade Peterson if they can get enough value for him, but we don't know what offers were made. You made a lot of assumptions here and they didn't hold up.

Well according to Peterson who was obviously leaking all the info. They didn't even try or in the mix. So explain that mentality to me given all the factors of his current roster.

I remember wanting the Steelers to draft Jones too but instead we got Bud Dupree

Umm Martavis Bryant wanted to be traded early last year and that didn’t happen the next day.
    You’re so full of ****.

The simplest of the many possibilities is that they actually believed the Cardinals when they said Peterson wasn't available or they did call and ask and were told no. It is absolutely possible that Peterson, and by extension McFadden, wouldn't know about that.

You were wrong. You were wrong all along and now all doubt has been removed. Please show some reason and integrity, admit it and move on. Thank you.

They definitely made a wrong call there. It doesn't fit that ridiculous theory you floated out there, but not getting Jones was a mistake.
