I don't doubt that Peterson might be traded.

I just don't see the Steelers getting similar value in return for Bell compared to what they would have to give up for Peterson.

He should just start napping in meetings.

Don't care! The Steelers should make a good offer for him. Offer a 1st.

First, everybody kept telling me he wasn't on the block because their owner said so days later. Rumors like that don't get out about vets if there isn't some truth and given their record/contract it was blatantly obvious. Secondly, worst case.. They give up a 1st and get a 2nd for Bell. They now have two 2nds. No other teams in this race has that. They give up a 1st and got one pick in two rounds. That's my whole point. They got more to work with. They have the best relationship with this team. If the Steelers don't get this done. It's obvious they do not care about winning a Championship this year.

Why is Colbert merging threads? Now people won't know he does indeed want to be traded.

When did Peterson buy the team?

Him wanting to be traded doesn't mean the owner has him on the block.

Im one that wants the Steelers to give up a 1st for him and hope he is indeed on the block but this post proves nothing.

It proves if you make a good enough offer, he can be on your team. Nobody is going to keep a player around who wants out.

If he's available, there's nearly no excuse to not go after him.

No, it really isn't obvious at all. You are basing a wild theory on evidence that is primarily speculation. The offers for Bell don't seem to be there now and your argument that they can get it done in the offseason never held up, mostly because you don't seem to understand the rules involved.

You are also assuming that a first-rounders gets it done. The Raiders got a first-round pick for Amari Cooper today. Peterson is far more valuable than Cooper, and his contract gives his team control for a year longer than Cooper's current deal.

You don't know whether or not the Steelers have made or will make an offer for Peterson. You most likely never will know if they did or not. Based on the team's history, a claim that they don't care about winning a championship is ridiculous.

That isn't true, either. Teams do it all the time. It's not like he is holding out like Bell or skipping practices like Earl Thomas. There is just a story out there that he wants out, one nobody is publicly acknowledging.

They aren't there now because they can't sign him long term. What don't you understand? They can at the very worst get a 2nd for him in the off-season when a team can sign him long term.

They won't have control of him then. They aren't putting the franchise tag on him again and if they put the transition tag on him, a team that desperately wants Bell can simply outbid the Steelers.

I understand your argument quite well. I just understand that it doesn't hold up.

This all seems like you want to justify the impulse to angrily stomp your feet if the Steelers don't trade for Peterson. There are many factors beyond the Steelers' control with Peterson. The available evidence is decidedly against your theory that the team doesn't care about winning this season.

Saints don't have a 1st next year to offer. Steelers can get him!!!

You have some fantasy in your head where it's impossible to tag Bell again. Why by the way? I don't get your logic.

Say what now? I believe the gist was that other board members were trying to get you to understand that you can't be traded if the owner doesn't want to trade you.

How does Peterson saying he wants out of Arizona prove that you were right? A terrible failed attempt for a gotcha moment.

We still have no idea if the owner is interested in moving Peterson.

Saints don't have a 1st or the cap space right now. No way. Steelers can get him.

I'd rather have Norm Peterson. He could drink a lot of beer, and had a bunch of great one liners.

    Tomlin: Hey what's up Norm?

    Norm: This beer. Obviously.

Tomlin: Standard is the Standard Norm.
