Penn State CB Joey Porter Jr would look good in the black and gold

I was watching the Penn State game last night. Minnesota has a tight end named Brevyn-Spann-Ford. He's 6'7'' and around 278 pounds. He appears to have great hands and the ability to get open. He has 2 years of eligibility left there but I was wondering if you have any feelings on this guy?

We will see this week against other 4 and 5 star players when he lines up against OSU.

Thus far on Breyvn Spann Ford?!

Big bodied Red Zone Target thus far. If he can improve his blocking and lose some weight without losing that strength?!... you have a quality starter to work with there. He is a mid Day Three option for me right now.

Biggest knock on Joey is that he does not have a nose for the football. Played 4 years at Penn and has a grand total of 1 Int. I think because of this he will definitely be there at 17 for the Steelers and I could also see him there at 32.

Joey will be there at 32 because of his lack of Ints and his NFL Combine 40 time. All the CBs taken in the 1st round will be faster than Joey. IF Joey runs the 40 at all at the NFL combine, I predict it will be a slow 4.5 and that will drop him to Day 2.

I bet there is not ever a CB drafted in the 1st round that played 4 years at a college that had only 1 Int in those 4 years.

Nobody knows what his real time will be until it's at the combine ....same with all the rest.

If he runs the 40 at all. I am now thinking he will skip the 40 at the combine and run it at Penn's Pro day.

Well then He would drop on My board. I don't trust anyone that won't run at the combine....unless they are injured... LoL....I got bashed over this for a few years on this board about that ....by some people...., but that's how I feel.

He might not, but he could. I don’t see a down side to it unless he is injured or just knows he will run way too slow. It’s hard to tell what these guys will run since this is the first time in their life they are actively training just for the 40 time. At his height and length he doesn’t need to run a 4.3… he can be a 4.5 guy and feel good about it. The position is deep this year though, so someone will be available later than they think they should be. It’s just a numbers game at that point.

Branch draws a lot of comparisons to Minkah as a highbred safety corner, but Miami found he wasn't really happy/that good at corner. Antonio Johnson from Texas A&M is similar, a safety who also can play corner, just 3" taller and 10 pounds heavier.
