Sending the check for 10k until the results are in for the next eight? Interesting indeed.

"In the first two rounds, home ice advantage is awarded to the team with the better seed; in the last two rounds, it is awarded to the team that had the better regular season record."

I think this answers my question above about who is home team in final round - so if Pens progress - they would be home team :dancing:

Probably should have clarified that a little. I won't send the $10,000.00 that will come from Vegas after the Pens win the Stanley Cup to the Animal Charities until the Pens win 8 more games.

Time to get the next series started. I'm thinking this should be a 6 game series with the Pens winning. The odds on winning the Stanley Cup are now leaning very much in the Pens favor compared to the other remaining three teams.

Nashville is a surprise though. The Sens are a pretty good team as well. Not as flashy, but they are solid.

I'm kinda hoping that the Ducks take out the Preds. Subban is always bad to play against and the definition of a cheap shot artist. Can't stand him

Word of the day for Pens fans: dipsomaniac.

Not to say I told ya about Craig Anderson, but he is looking tough.

Anderson was solid last night but he was helped by a smothering defense and the 1-3-1 trap that has always been the bane of Pittsburgh's existence. Gm 2 I think Sully will have them throwing everything at the net and trying for rebounds. Both sides had some posts in this game as well. Going forward I have to say the biggest worry is the defense. Hainsy has been a hot mess but put together a solid game for once, Maata and Doumlin both suffered brain farts last night. They really need Daley to get healthy but he even was up and down in the Blue Jackets series.

i laugh when pens fans think senators are still not tough. We played bad and had a chance to win last night, so no biggie right? Well Senators can bore us to death and end up winning the series before pens wake up. hope not lol

I think we see a different Pens team on Monday. It's not that the Senators are that good it's that the Pens played that bad and it was only a one goal game in overtime. I would expect the Pens coach to make some adjustments as he always does when needed. It's a best of seven series not a one game series. The Pens were coming off a tough series against the second best team in hockey so a let down is not a surprise. Not to worry, it is a repeat for the Pens. The Pens are the best team in hockey even with their best defense player out and some other weak stops on defense they need to take care of off season to make a run at a three-peat next year.

Time for the Pens to get this series tied at 1-1. It reminds me of last year when the Pens beat the Caps in a tough series and then just blew the first game of the next series against Tampa Bay.

In his head too much, he had has some mistakes that have burned them so I think he us being conservative. He also needs to hit Gary Roberts up for some training this off season and get some bulk and really put his size to use.

The Sens will be tough, their goal tender is seeing everything right now. Pens will have to bring their A game to advance.

This is playoff hockey. Everyone they play will be tough. That is one of the reasons it is almost impossible to repeat as Stanley Cup winners in back to back years. I agree the Pens need to bring their A game to win this series and the next one.
And I have no doubt they will win it all again this year just like last year. They just need to keep playing like they are and continue to be the best team in hockey.

Now I can see why international soccer fans love a 1-0 match - last nights game was so frustrating yet so rewarding when the final horn blew. I'm so glad it was Kessel who scored the only goal - he has been so close so many times. What a rocket launcher he possesses. I prefer the higher scoring contests than these nail biters - though 2 shutouts in MAF's last 3 games is outstanding.

You notice how the Senators rarely lob and clear a short-handed puck down the rink - they aggressively play for the short-handed goal almost every single time and it's surprised the Pens often. Hope the Pens road playoff success continues.

Meh they need the D-men to actually get those shots on net or play the shot pass game.

Too many posts again! I will say they shut that crap down after they scored the go ahead goal!

That was amazing to see how they were preventing them from getting the goalie off until under 2 minutes!

Tonight is a good time to go up 2-1 and for Crosby to get a goal and assist.
