Penguins Off-season Moves (2017)

These moves that I'm about to propose to you may or may not happen, but they would be always interesting to think about.

1. Penguins trade for the Sedin twins: This would be an interesting trade for our team. Just imagine a line with Crosby or Malkin at center and the Sedin twins as wingers. Despite their ages, this would give them the best shot to win a Stanley Cup. Losing the players listed below and swapping some of our draft picks in a possible trade with them won't hurt us. Free agency is also an option for us if we want to add a player or two to replace the players that we lost in the trade.

Vancouver should accept: Hornqvist, Kuntiz, Hainsey, and some draft picks or other players swapped between us to even out the trade. If the Canucks want to start rebuilding, then this would be the best move for them in my opinion. Also, who would pass up the chance to play with Crosby and Malkin?

If we did the same thing with Morrow and Iginla for a playoff push, then why can't we do it with them?

2. Jagr returns to Pittsburgh: Even though that he's 45, it would be a great for Jagr if he came back to Pittsburgh for a chance to win one last Stanley Cup to cap off a great career.

3. Will Fleury stay, get traded, or sign with another team? Backup goalie options for us if he does leave?

 

Why in the hell does a team coming off a Stanley Cup and a few game away from a repeat Stanley Cup need to do anything.

 

It says this thread was started last Saturday? Did this sit in cyberspace for 7 months and was actually written last October? You're right Fan - no comprende.

 

Nah he wrote it in reference to this coming offseason. (2017)

Obviously, well before they lost 5 & 6 then won Game 7.

I'm with you guys though. They seem to have the horses already in the stable to play 2 way hockey and be explosive, so why drastically alter anything?

The best thing about this team is the way it's farm system feeds (Penguin ready players) to the top team when needed and the system is the same no adjustments needed.

 

I think we should put the OP to work on the Pirates and Pitt BB.

 

Those seem like 2 very lost causes.

 

All the more reason to aggressively tinker - what harm could come? As Roger Waters once shouted: "Teachers - leave the Pens alone!"
