For the record I'm one of those who felt like our last chance to get to the Superbowl was the 2017 season (We lost to the Jaguars at home).

It was sometime during the 2018 season i stated "Ben is Done". I remember catching flack then as if I were a Ben hater, far from the truth but I pointed to Ben's lack of leadership (players on the team past and present have directly and indirectly said the same thing. I heard the blame on Tomlin solely to which I disagreed with somewhat pointing to the 2015 season. Most remember we lost to Denver in the playoffs, most forget that AB missed that game with a concussion. A concussion sustained because Ben hung him out to dry with a high pass. People countered saying how Ben came back after being injured to win that game in Cincy, few will remember that he got injured trying to extend a play unnecessarily on 3rd and long and took a big hit when all he needed to do was throw it away.

2016 we had a chance but most will forget that Leveon Bell injured himself on the 1st series in that game against the Patriots.

2017 was supposed to be the our year even though Ben started the season with 10 Td's and 9 Interceptions including 5 in that 1st game against the Jags. In the end we lost again to the Jags as we NEVER fully recovered from Shazier's injury.

2018 we didn't make the playoffs with a healthy Ben

2019 I was encouraged that without Ben we went 8-7 (remember Ben lost the 1st game of the season. We did that with Mason and a QB named Duck

2020 can anyone dispute that we played a more competitive game in the final week against Cleveland WITHOUT Ben, Pouncey, and a few other starters. Remember the Browns HAD to have that game. That game came down to a 2pt conversion IN CLEVELAND. So how did we look so bad a week later at home against the same team with our starters? Those guys are not hungry and Ben holds back the offense and what we can call.

Pay close attention to the remaining QB's who are left in the playoffs and look at their skillset vs Ben. The teams that advance pay attention to the QB's. As I watch the Rams vs Green Bay im seeing both Geoff and Rodgers line up under center fake handoffs and bootleg, misdirection roll out of the QB, QB sweep passes to the RB from under center, accuracy on mid crossing routes. Both of these offenses and how the QB's SELL the run or pass with their body.

My point? We have to move on from Ben of we want to once again get to the next level. There's just too much limitation he has as a QB and im afraid it will hinder the next O Coordinator.

    2016 LevBell injury
2017 Steelers had injuries on our D, similar to last year, that severely hampered our run defense. We lost Shazier for crying out loud.
2018 AB mutinied. Our defense was pretty average.

    How are those Ben's fault?

How often has Ben ever run a bootleg? Maybe when Coach Whiz was here? That is a long time ago.

I'm watching, and I'm seeing a Packers team that can run block, the entire team including TE's.

I'm not blaming Ben at all for the the last couple of seasons as injuries happen. What I'm saying is if you look at today's NFL and specifically watch the teams who advance the QB play is part of that reason. Ben's limitations as an accurate passer (specifically on crossing routes) footwork, ability to escape and run, and now deep ball will doom our offense next year. If Ben comes back I wouldn't start him. I know it sounds crazy but let him be a back up to Mason or whomever. He is more Ryan Fitzpatrick at this point anyway.
We no longer have the #1 WR and #1 Running Back as a compliment and we won't next year so blow it up and move on.

2018 at Denver Ben Ben throws horrendous pick up 7 in 3red AND driving. He then goes with the P in RPO on final drive near gl when Connor walks in to tie it. Throws yet another hideous int on play to AB n them.blames his route??? He threw into triple coverage n Im.being nice here. Then goes into say should've thrown 4 X to Juju..... He knows what PIA nut case AB is n throws gas on the fire

    Just 1 example

He does what he wants to do period n that includes preferring to pass vs run even if run gets it done so he can rack up stats to so he's compared to Marsha, Breeze, Roger's, etc.

Time to move on skills are deteriorating n has direct effect on how off is run n Fitchner n Tomlin gave him free reign wo consequences n where has that gotten them. His playoff performances have been poor for a "HOF" qb, IMO

WC vs. Browns won't dive on a fumble near ez, imo didn't want to get hit

2007 Jags wc game, 2010 Baltimore div game, 2010 AFCCG, SB 40, tho he played phenomenal in games leading up to it, SB 45, 2011 Tebow game, 2014 wc vs Rats, 2015 wc vs Bengals, 2016 Chefs div game, audibles to passes on opening drive n on int in ez 2nd qtr when Bell was running wild, aor that game is a blowout, 2016 afccg, 2017 jags div game poor ints n a sack fumble leading to td. And wouldn't run a QB sneak on 4th n short n lbs runs wide for to on downs. In 2018 does run a qb sneak just as a FU to Halley. Meaningless there

He's done a ton of great things n as someone who lived Steelers post Bradshaw to Ben I am VERY APPRECIATIVE of all he has done

But his skillser6has deteriorated n he is even.more arrogant IMO not a good combo

There is no way the Steelers or any NFL team for that matter is paying $41,000,000 for a back up QB.:no2:
