    After cuts the Patriots only have Mac Jones on their roster. Comments are they hope Zappe and cunnigham makes it to their practice squad. Old Bill trying to outsmart the world again. What do they expect to do if Zappe gets picked up and Jones gets injured before opening day. What is risky roll of the dice heading into opening week.

    This doesn't really belong on this part of the board, but it looks like both guys are going to make it to the Patriots' practice squad. I am absolutely certain there was some sort of side deal in place with Zappe. Coach Hoodie loves playing these games.

    They are going to pick up Roethlisberger and SDOT is going to OFFICIALLY lose his last brain cell.

    I would be pleasantly surprised. I just don’t see it though.

    Good to see you Dobbs.

    Both QB's are back on the team's practice squad. You are allowed to activate someone from the practice squad 3 times before putting them on the 53 man roster. Belichick plans to activate Zappe from the practice squad the first 3 weeks as Jones backup and then place Zappe on the 53 man roster starting in game four. He had worked out a deal with Zappe previous to cutting him yesterday. Zappe was contacted by 7 teams after he was cut but declined them all to come back as Jones backup. Bill played the system and it worked out as he planned. The only thing that would have thrown a monkey wrench into the plan was if Zappe would have double crossed him and signed with one of the other teams but Bill made sure that his compensation was enough that it wouldn't happen.

    That sounds about right, but the Patriots claimed Corral.

    I saw that, did seem quite peculiar to me as well. Like what's Hoodie's plan at QB? If Mac goes down? Odds are he will.

    I can’t believe that the Panthers released Corral after one season. Just goes to show you how ridiculous the draft hype can be. Remember these gems from last year?

    :facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

    I think we picked the right guy. :thumbs_up:

    I just wonder if Pickett wasn’t there if Tomlin and Colbert would have drafted Corral or Willis? :shrug:

    Likely Willis.

    That said, who knows?! Pittsburgh also sent the literal house to North Carolina's Pro Day for Sam Howell. He cannot be forgotten either. Regardless, me and you share the opinion on Pickett. :drinks:

    Do you think there’s any way they would have drafted him in the first round?

    I would hope not. As a 3rd round pick that's one thing, but a 1st....never

    Howell?!

    I wouldn't have put it past Colbert to have done so. That said, given how the Steelers have picked Senior QBs since Landry Jones back in 2013... Malik Willis could have likely been the failsafe.

    Tomlin apparently loved him. :shrug:

    Maybe it was smoke and mirrors.
