I don`t have words to express what I am feeling.

This hit me like a ton of bricks, out of the blue...

My condolences to his family, and the rest of Steeler Nation...

We just lost one of the great people to walk the face of this earth, from a generation of people

that knew how to raise their kids right, with a sense of family, and dignity, respect, class, and all of the things that are fading

    away nowadays...

    R.I.P. Dan

YOU WILL BE MISSED, BUT REMEMBERED!!!!:hi:

This is a sad day indeed, Dan was a great and very humble man. What a legacy he leaves behind. A man who others should aspire to. He is Pittsburgh through and through. Condolences to his family may he rest in peace.

Man this one hurts like crazy. What a great man. I remember the last time I saw him I felt really sorry for him because he just looked so feeble but was still down on the sidelines chatting with people and players and when he walked out of the tunnel we all started cheering for him and he just smiled and waved at us. Definitely a revered figure in our storied history and in the history of the league really. Thanks for everything, Mr. Rooney. Steeler Nation will never forget you.

Dude I'm telling you man there's just "something" about this one that's like "dang". I mean it's almost like The STEELERS died today. That's almost how it feels in my heart to learn of this. Most of the time when you hear of a celebrity dying you're sort of just like "ah I hate to hear that" but with this one it just feels so much closer to home or something. Terrible news. This man has enriched all of our lives beyond anything we could ever truly express. I mean really when you get down to it he's one of the primary reasons behind our little tight knit community and friendships that have sprung up on this very site. I can't even begin to imagine how his immediate family must feel right now.
