Maybe, but his sacks are down so hits after he lets it go are probably down too. Don't forget, you have to be real careful about hitting the QB after he releases the ball.

Obviously Bens sacks were way down pre injury and after he came back his sacks went up as the short passing game disappeared. Theres no arguing that type of game plan is better for Bens health, ironically, he was being hit less then ever when he went down with probably the worst injury of his career. Go figure. Something else that will keep Ben off the turf, a line that's not held together by duct tape! They better stay healthy next season and I'd like one more draft pick to address the line.

 

Isn't Bens average around 45 sacks a year? I don't really think you can just say he would have had 39 sacks when there were games before he got hurt where he wasn't sacked once. I would put him at 35 sacks had he not missed those games based on what I saw from the totals I was recording each week. Before he got hurt, I think he only had one game where he was sacked 4 times, after he came back he had 2 of those games. For the most part, he was only hitting the turf 1 or 2 times a game pre injury.
