    Week 2: 26 - 22
    Week 3: 23 - 18
    Week 5: 17 - 10
    Week 7: 24 - 17
    Week 9: 20 - 16
    Week 10: 23 - 19

Of the 9 games the Steelers have played thus far, they've out gained their opponents 6 times - the final score is all that matters.

Just a matter of Perspective

That is factually false. We've out gained 0 opponents... We've out scored 6 of them. Only one of those stats matters apparently.

    Thank you

I’m surprised nobody has mentioned this

And do you have a new definition of out gained vs out scored

No sir, not a new definition, just a different way of looking at it. If one team out scores another team, then that team has "gained" more points. Just tired of constantly hearing how the Steelers have been out gained in every game this year. In the end, the only stat that matters is the score. Hey, I get it, the Steelers suck!

Well the Browns can out gain us all they want today as long as we out score them.

I seriously don't understand why people can't enjoy the journey. We all get frustrated and wish the offense would instantly become a juggernaut, but we are already seeing the offensive line and the running game finding its legs and becoming more productive. By doing that, they are possessing the ball longer so time of possession has gone up. It burns a lot of clock and limits the amount of possessions by the opponent's offense. By doing that it helps protect the defense more and allows them more rest.

The offense has started to score more points, and when you combine it with everything I posted above it shows clear overall improvement in the offense.

When you run the ball a lot you limit the number of throws, so quarterback production goes down. For those bitching about Pickett's numbers when the team running for 200 yards, go take a look at teams that predominantly run the ball with that type of production in a game and you will see that the quarterback's numbers are almost always more pedestrian. It's the nature of an offense that is a heavy run team and the quarterback isn't throwing it 40 times a game.

Let's just watch what Kenny Pickett does now that the offense is starting to grow up around him. He was a couple dropped passes from throwing for 200 yards with 200 yards rushing. That is going to beat almost everyone you play if the defense plays a typical game.

True but the YPA need to be higher than that but this is true that the dropped pass of Diontae and the penalty of Austin on the catch by Pickens at the end did not help...Today our offense will have a huge test vs Browns defense!

Maybe because the journey has been the same for quite a few years now...

    Attitude

    It’s all about attitude

My wife and I wanted to have kids but it just didn’t happen and my wife was bummed

I told her we were on a train going to France and it made a wrong turn and wound up in Italy

We can be bummed we didn’t go to France or we can enjoy Italy

    We have been enjoying Italy

And we are enjoying the Steelers season

    Go Yinz Stillers n’ at

I will give the OP some love here. Respect for the unbridled enthusiasm, especially on a game day.

You earn (gain) points for touchdowns and field goals etc. It is a play on words. Saying the Steelers have gained more points than opponents is not inaccurate.

Here's to hoping we out gain the Browns today on the scoreboard. :drinks:

True to a certain extent, but there are signs of improvement with a young team. We are going to know more by the end of the season.

Also remember that just because they are getting a little better doesn't mean that Canada is going to stay. Sullivan could be gone. The organization is evaluating everything as they go. If they believe that coaching is limiting this team, there will probably be changes.

Who knows, they may win double digit games and be in the tournament at the end of the regular season. Then we will see about that next step.

I enjoy watching young players grow and seeing a team building a roster while getting better. There is no sense in calling them a failure before the games are played. Let's see where this goes.

No doubt. We will see how they do against this defense.

Until we play a team that is an actual SB contender, like SF, at which point we get the doors blown off.

Because the journey has no direction..... I recall a lot of you laughing about Marvin Lewis's Bengals teams and the perennial playoff appearances and 1 and done performances..... Now we are that team and we're supposed to enjoy the journey????
The standard used to be Super Bowl or bust..
Now the standard is non losing season and a possible playoff appearance.....
I expect more from my team and will never apologize for it..

And conversely, their offence has a huge test against our defence. The pressure they can and should apply to the rook will make a difference. Brownies will likely need to rely heavily on a run game hopefully the defense stuffs the run and then QB is forced into throwing.

I sincerely hope the offense comes out to win this game. I don't like the way GP is looking the last few games. He seems down and almost given up on the Steelers. Having Muth back will help the middle of the field which apparently Kenny never throws too.

I get the enjoy the win statement, kind of. I enjoy certain foods that give me indigestion, hell even quick trips to the bathroom. The afterward affects take away from the enjoyment, but I still eat. Enjoying a win does not take away the affects the win gives me physically, emotionally, etc. Like eating the wrong stuff, I do not have to watch the crap that;s presented, I do knowing I will likely end up with issues, my choice to be in pain. But over time I also have learned to mitigate the effects of certain foods so I can enjoy them and truly enjoy the experience. So far Art and company have not given the recipe to have a week or two where I can enjoy my Steelers experience with the same mitigation. lol

Marvin Lewis' teams were really talented with experienced QB's and filled with the prison element, dirty players, and a coach that embraced that nasty, dirty environment. They underachieved and found incredible ways to blow games in the playoffs. Many thought the Bengals were the most talented team in the NFL and predicted huge things for them every year.

This Steelers team is a young, building team with an inexperienced QB in his second season and young players everywhere. All the experts are saying this team is winning with smoke and mirrors and shouldn't have this good of a record. This is nothing like the Marvin Lewis Bengals in any way.

All I'm saying is try to enjoy the wins by a team that is hopefully figuring it out and slowly improving.
