    Heres a good Q&A with Richard Mann. I know many of us will like this answer in particular that a certain former member we felt was guilty of quite often.

    Q. Are the receivers involved in protecting the quarterback?
    A. We protect Ben in that if he throws a pass that ain’t perfect, and if we can’t get it the other guy doesn’t get it. He’s got to have confidence that he can anticipate throws, and if some of them are off maybe because he got pressure and had to let it go early and the ball’s not perfect, he’s got to trust that one of us down the field will take care of it.

    Wonder if he was referring to any particular player, perhaps someone no longer on the team

    Years ago Bradshaw said he learned 3 things in football:

    If the receiver waves his hand, he wants you to throw the ball to him.

    Don't argue with the refs.

    If you throw the ball to John Stallworth, it will not be intercepted.

    It's that third thing I think we are talking about. If you can't catch the ball, make sure the other guy doesn't either.
