We need to utilize Redman more on short downs (especially in the Redzone, either that or get a fullback already)

Our young wide receivers are growing and will be great however Sanders is especially missed when he is not playing

Mike Wallace needs to get tough and learn to fight for a ball in the air and be consistent with his comeback/hook routes

Mendy looks discouraged this year (probably because of BA's playcalling) but he's still a valuable threat (cant figure out why we dont check down to him more and let him make plays in open space like Ray Rice)

Our offensive line when healthy can be viable however when are they ever fully healthy?

We need to draft a stud inside linebacker (Farrior and Foote are done)

Need a safety (Ryan Clark is done)

Backup QB to take over for Charlie Batch would be nice

William Gay has looked better but is just a bandaid

We also lack intensity during games both home and away (this is most discouraging). I have to put that one on Tomlin (but I wouldn't get rid of my coach)

On a positive note this is the best I've seen special teams play in many years

I agree with you on Farrior. DId you see how Vernon Davis the TE run right buy him and make that beautiful catch? They scored a TD on that drive. That play was the start of it.

I was wondering why you feel that way about Ryan Clark? I thought he played really aggressively last night and really pounded some Whiners on his tackles. I remember him knocking the ball out of Vernon Davis' hands twice.

While I agree with most of this...
Why do you think "Ryan Clark is done"?!?!
Because he`s not allowed to hit like he should anymore?!?
I haven`t seen anything to make me question him being on the field...
Our biggest mistake, is letting the guy that ran Dan Krieder outta town, continue to "co-ordinate" our offense...
And I am NOT(really truly not), basing that on last night`s game...
He did better than usual, this week, but that is one of the few exceptions to the rule...
I was wondering how many posters were thinking about our 4 running plays at the goalline last week, when we watched the Niners score from just outside our goalline, BY USING CREATIVE PLAYCALLING?!?
There may be a thread about that already, just haven`t looked at many of them yet...
    GO STEELERS!!! :towel:

Our biggest weakness-- the QB position. WE NEED A REALISTIC BACK UP PLAN IN CASE BEN GOES DOWN IN THE PLAYOFFS!!!

It seemed like they hit Mendy on check down passes and screen a lot against SF. I can remember several going for decent yardage.

Blocking mainly point of attack on line of scrimmage, pass blocking isn't great but 50% of the sacks are Ben's fault.

    3rd down defense

    Turnover ratio

If we could fix these things, we are on our way.

    Redman - Agreed

    Young WRs - Agreed

Mike Wallace - Is fine in his progression. How about Ben learning how to hit him in stride?

Mendy - Has been blasting into (and often through) piles the last few games. He averaged 4.3 yds/carry against SF. Regarding checkdown opportunities... Ask Ben.

O-Line - The standard is the standard.

ILB - Timmons/Worilds/Sylvester? LB has been a merry-go-round this year... I hope with time we will see these guys step up.

Ryan Clark - Disagree. Clark is still a playmaker at safety.

    Backup QB - Dixon

Willie Gay - This man has stepped up major, this year. I believe he struggles when put in soft-zone coverage. I think he plays better in tight man coverage. His INTs seem to be proof of this. I believe he suffers from being an aggressive player in a scheme that focuses on laying back. When secondary plays aggressive, he does well.

Intensity - Yes it seems there is a lack of intensity.

Special Teams - They're doing a pretty good job, but with the talent AB has, I'd like to see them step up kick/punt return blocking. AB can get six on any given return.

BONUS - Are you concerned, at all, that Ben is around 21/14 TD/INT, on the season, rolling into week 16 and the playoffs around the corner?

I think LeBeau needs to go aggressive when opposing offense is facing 3rd and long.

Ben needs to protect the ball. WRs need to do the same.

Let me re-phrase. Ryan Clark is not done but I feel he lacks the speed to cover down on medium to deep routes (stronger safety play would help) but to me he usually seems late in getting over to help. Still a solid hitter and communicator though
