Only reason I watched (half-assed) was wife had it on. Use to be so much cooler back in the day when I knew the movies.

Hey there, Oppenheimer is 4 miles away from me finally. Wondering if the movie theaters give an intermission like they did in the Godfather movies?? I agree with you it would be much better on the big screen instead of a TV screen. Thing is on TV I can break it into three 1 hour episodes. Not sure I can sit for 3 hours in a theater. I'd hate to have to get up and walk for 10-15 minutes which I tend to need and miss part of movie.

May I say Mother F...... Small popcorn 9 bucks. 16 ounce soda 6 bucks. Although, I don't think the 12.50 price to watch the movie is bad at all.

The theatre I went to did not have an intermission

I went to a 11 am matinee and made a point of not drinking any fluids that morning

The movie will not seem like 3 hours

Plus being an old fart I got senior tickets and free popcorn Monday

This is a movie to see in a theatre with a good sound system tv will not be the same

Plus breaking it into 3 parts will loose some affect unless it’s just two quick breaks to pee

I got a huge TV, and a 7 speaker surrounded sound. I really want to see it, but I will wait till I can see it at home. Also I'm exactly 52 mins one way to the nearest movie theater now.

    Yes

I don’t live near a theatre so I have to drive a fair distance and I do

I am a movie buff and some movies are better in a theatre

I’ve watched Top Gun Maverick in a theatre with top sound and on a TV with good sound theatre was an infinitely better experience

Now I don’t recommend you see Barbi at the theatre you should watch that at home

Plus when I do drive to a theatre I cover a lot of bases while I’m out to make it worth it like dinner etc but keep in mind I’m retired

Oh I thoroughly understand that I live in farm country

Fortunately for me I just own the acreage and my neighbors actually do the farming

Their idea of a vacation is the county fair

Although they are apparently very good farmers

Grand champion Holstein at the county many times

One year county state and national

The grandfather was just recognized at the National Holstein convention for a lifetime achievement award

You are probably one of the few on this board who would appreciate what an achievement that is

If you get NBC streaming channel, Peacock, Opp. is on it. I'll be breaking it down into 3 one hour sessions.

I have a movie joint 3 miles from me and I still wait for it to come on TV. I just have trouble sitting that long. Oppenheimer is by me but I get Peacock streaming channel and it is on there so I'll take a few days to watch it.

It's good. I just got done. It took me more then 3 hours since I took a lot of breaks. Humans sure the hell are not the same. These guys had some big ass brains. I would imagine if we gave them some magic mushrooms their minds would open so much that they'd solve every problem:)

IMO Oppie got a raw deal. America ask the guy to build the bomb and then questions he's a Communist. I loved the part where they worried that the test could start a reaction that would end the world. I think when they turned the particle smasher on at Cern they worried the same thing.

Yes I remember learning in JR high they thought it may burn the whole atmosphere up, and catch the world on fire, or some such. I remember thinking......:hmm:, and still they tried it:hmm:.....It showed me everything I needed to know about the ruling class in the world.
