I saw this move today in a theatre with reclining seats great sound system snd free Monday popcorn for seniors

The movie is excellent

Watch it in a theatre do not wait to watch it on TV it won’t be the same

 

Closest theater is one hour away for Me. I will see it though.

 

Watching it tonight in the IMAX. 70MM Exactly how the director intended for it to be seen.

 

I saw it over the weekend, but I watched it in an old fashioned theater with no amenities, good movie a little too long IMO.

 

Damn you for saying that. I am not a movie going person and am really looking forward to this movie. Now that you said better in a theatre I'm going to have to force myself to go. I have trouble with 3+ hour movies. At home I can break it down to an hour a day.

 

Not a movie watching in theater guy. That IMAX you speak of, does it make the movie better somehow???????

 

Damn guy, you are really out there. I live in a small resort town but I have a brand spanking new movie place 4 miles from me. If the movie would bore me they also have bowling alley's (I don't bowl, ball to damn heavy) and a simulator Golf machine.

 

I said I did. That's why I have trouble getting the internet...., and will be the 1st year without the NFL Sunday Ticket since 1997. I just moved out here 5 years ago. Before that I had a 10 movie theater a couple blocks up.

 

Years ago, Santee had a 3 screen theater. It's a supermarket now. Then they built an outdoor mall with the promise it would be anchored by a movie theater. It's anchored, instead, by a Target. We had one of two remaining drive-ins in the county. It's been sold to a developer and will probably be warehouses. Regal Cinemas has a multiplex about 4 miles away! It's being shut down. No word on what it will become.
It's hard to find a movie theater anymore. Too many viewing options.

 

Basically its just superior picture and sound. The scene where they are testing the bomb in the desert is insane! It sounded like a nuclear bomb went off in the theater! It needs a second watch for sure.

Also the IMAX is 70mm. The picture is probably cropped in regular theaters, so you arent seeing the full screen as it was intended.

 

Hell with Oppenheimer, I'm off to Barbie Not really but I am going to marry Margot Robbie. I maybe watched a certain scene in "The Wolf of Wall Street" about 100 times

As noted, can't remember last time in a movie theater but the brand spanking new one 4 miles from me has gone over my head. When did you have to buy your tickets ahead of time start???? What this sh!t of reserving a seat???? The F ever happened to buying a ticket at the window???? Guess I'll end up waiting for the damn thing to come to TV

Fun fact: Oppenheimer and his crew took bets on if it would go off or not. Oppenheimer bet that it wouldn't work.

I do believe at some point our species will do the unthinkable. I also believe it won't happen in my lifetime, thankfully. I was in Europe 30 years after WW2 and London, Eng. and Narvik, Norway still had a lot of buildings that suffered damage in the bombings.

 

Call Me crazy, but I believe something like it probably happened before. I believe many civilizations have come , and gone. No freaking way You can make Me believe people have been around as long as We have been then in the 1800 We all of a sudden just got smart. The ability to lose technology would be a very easy thing to do if all that's on Your mind is survival, and where the next meal may come from.

The 3 hours seemed long to me at first but it actually went quickly

I believe the were questioning if the trigger would work

 

I went on a Monday at 11 and the theatre was half full and you can buy a ticket at the theatre

I like being able to pick my seat s few days ahead of time and not get stuck less than best

 

Shoot, should have known better then to try and go in the summer. Tourist did not have a good beach day so guess where a ton of them ended up

 

Some may find this of interest. "A Compassionate Spy" It is a documentary which I hope I can see. True story of Ted Hall who in 1943 was only 18 and working on the bomb in Los Alamos. Jewish guy who obviously hated Nazi Germany and wanted to help kick their ass. When he saw they were getting their ass kicked he worried USA would have a monopoly on nuclear weapons so the prick talks to a Soviet journalist. Now you know that got back to the motherland.

 

I ask all who have seen this movie... is it true that when they set it off they show a UFO hovering in the background???? I've heard many say this.

 

I didnt notice a UFO? Interesting.

 

I have heard multiple people that has seen it say this. I haven't seen it so I can't say.
