    but here's mine:

I'm not gonna beat a dead horse but IMO the defense one of the biggest issues this team is having (namely; lack of pass rush and ability to stop the run). However, the O Line and receivers have really struggled as well. O Line is struggling in Pass Pro and getting push in the running game. The receivers are struggling to separate at times and catch the football at times.

    My opinion for the fix:

Defensively: Get TJ healthy lol! Genius right! But truth!!

Offensively: Creativity!!!! They need to move the pocket and get the ball out of the QB's hands quicker (tunnel screen, hitches, slants, fade stops, under routes). They need more players involved in the horizontal stretch game (Olshesky-sp- is the only guy I have seen running fly sweep). It would be a good change of pace to do some double pass, fly pass, even Tailback pass to take pressure off the QB. Short yardage, use a TB and bring in an extra TE or FB (Watt needs some work to do) and run some Wild "Steeler". As far as moving the pocket, either QB has good legs but they don'y need to be full time runners, but do a 3/4 roll and let the QB get out with some run/pass option. This O Line is not getting it done with traditional 5-7 step pass pro. Lastly, no back sets are a great way to put pressure on a defense. There is also so many wrinkles the offense can add. Olshesky should be a slot receiver and should be getting targeted more- D Johnson-less!

This team is trying to fit square pegs into round holes and it's not working! To continue to do this and expect a different result, is insanity!

The defense had plenty of pressure. We just didn't finish the plays. How many times did Wilson narrowly escape to convert? Definitely need to not give up two tds on the final two drives to lose the game, but the offense had a chance to close it out and didn't as well. I couldn't agree less with that last take. DJ is a really good player (top 20 in the league at WR) and Olszewski can't even handle his PR duties, let alone get featured more in the offense. I was actually thinking he was going to be healthy scratched for Sims if he makes another mistake. The OL is improving every week. We are pretty much a stud LT away from a pretty good unit. Chuks is good. Daniels has played well. Cole has been good. Dotson is fine. Now we just need that LT to round it out.

We have this season to figure out who is rolling forward and who isn't. I would let Claypool's contract run out and let him sign elsewhere. Harris has to give us more, as does Witherspoon. Do we keep Bush around at a lower price? We have to find a way to sign Sutton and Highsmith. I'd cut Canada loose at the end of the season. Find someone who can game plan around KP's strengths and we should be fine. This team will only get better. We are transitioning off the Ben years into the next era. Let KP have his ups and downs and learn from them. I'm not worried about him one bit. I thought his debut was VERY encouraging. IDC if we win less than 8 games this year if it progresses the team and lets us figure out who is worth keeping and who isn't.

    Ha ha! Here's some examples:
Go to youtube and check "ny jets vs pittsburgh steelers week 4 2022" to align with time stamps.

*For WR DJ, see first play of highlight! He says it was "tipped" but he also dropped another pass earlier in the game that I remember. If he's our #1 guy, we're screwed! I'm not for a second saying Olsh (SP) has to replace DJ. Saying, get guys in the game that have strengths, use their strengths and let them shine (this is called good coaching)! PS- Returning punts is a brutal job! DJ is serviceable if you deliver the ball short to intermediate and to the sideline! He rarely makes the tough catch. He's 5 catches for about 50 yards type a guy! Check out Pickens. He's already catching everything while running the entire route tree and he's a rook. DJ is way overrated IMO!! Disagree all ya want, GP is the better receiver already in my opinion!

*For horrible pass rush contain, see 2:23 of film. This is very basic football! You always, always have a trail player on the backside of a play on defense (as deep as the ball carrier) starting away, that is responsible for what just happened (a play coming back across the field). So the defense is not only lacking the talent to get a consistent pass rush but they are completely lacking basic pass rush rules! (we did see some of these issues in the pre-season as well, when TJ was out). The edges and the pass rush is a problem! Stopping the run has also been a huge problem (getting beat at the POA consistently against inferior teams).

*OL: 5:12 LT is on roller skates
3:43 LG #69 gets beat around the complete left side (outside the tackle)
Slow feet will get you killed in this league at any position! OL is #1! I would hate to have seen their OL grades on Monday but that was some of the laziest feet I have seen in a while (but what's really important here is that the QB got dropped on both plays! #69 is terrible in Pass Pro!
They LG has lazy feet and looks like he's often lost in Pass Pro.

*There are several examples of Wilson dropping back on 5 and 7 step drops and having ample time to throw completions. Went 18-36 for 252 and a TD (Clev QB was 21-31 for 220 and 2 TDs) but guess what they had in common? They won!

*Let's get another thing straight here! The Jets are not a very good football team and they posted a comeback to beat the Steelers at home. I'm not just trying to rip the team/players. I want to see them get better. They are not good right now and there are a lot of reason for that! The stats are also very telling. Steelers' opponents are not only outscoring them but also; out gaining in rush/pass yards, usually getting more sacks and 3rd down efficiency is better and maybe most telling-winning the turnover battle.

The Jets Defense is pretty good. They are ~10th in total yards.
And that was with some crummy QB'g with Flacco.

    A note about Pass Rush.
For mobile QB's you maintain your rush lanes to keep containment.
You do keep 'backside containment' for cutback types, like the Baltimore QB.
Pittsburgh's pass rush is not hitting on all cylinders, minus TJ. That's not good. There's just no one really drawing the double teams.
Heyward is a keystone to that line but he could use a little help.
Jack is a bonus to the LB corps. He looks to be getting better each week.
I have issues with malik Reed and the combo of Spillane and Bush, neither are playing well. Bush has the athleticism but since the injury just isn't doing the job.

The DB's are banged up, not a good time to be with Allen and the Bills playing lights out.
The only game plan to work with is to keep Allen on the sidelines. That means time of possession.
This is one I might have to watch with squinty eyes... the Bills can make this very painful.

    Thanks for your input Karl.

I do want to clarify that when I was referring to a "trail" player, that pertains to pursuit (pass rush contain is a different animal), which is generally read as a run play. Good defenses will divide the field in half at the ball (length wise). The side that the ball is going to (against the defense), let's say the defense's right said (offense left side) is referred to a the play side. Everyone on defense on that "half" (the playside) has a responsibility from each DLineman, to LBs and DBs. The same goes for the "backside" of the play (on defense). In that example, the "backside" would be the defense's left side. Everyone on the backside also has a specific assignment. In our 3-4 D, the backside DT or LB (or Rush End) would be the "trail" player. They should ALWAYS be as deep as the ball carrier but slow playing in case of cutback (this is non negotiable). This stops a player from just reversing his field and cutting back, but also defends against reverse, double pass, etc! There's a lot of complicated techniques that go into this and I'm not going to lay every detail out but if your "trail" player sucks down toward the LOS (as ours did in that play referred to), you essentially loose contain on that play!

I think you are correct that TJ's absence is allowing teams to free up blockers to use elsewhere. And our guys aren't getting the job done on the perimeter. Heyward is getting washed inside! But some guys are out of position and pursuit angles at times have been very poor. Certain players are risky in pass coverage (Spilane+ others)! Minkah is an absolute animal! Probably the most underrated DB in the league but he can't do it alone. But I still think fundamentals have slipped, which is a part of the defensive failures!

Jets may be #10 in offensive yards but that is after 4 games and also with a 2-2 record, so everything needs context! They barely squeaked one out against the Browns 31-30, but at least they won! Not trying to rain, these are just facts we're dealin' with here. :)
