Took me a long time to find that board. To my surprise I am logged in. Still can't post or answer. I clicked read the board and got the crash message. Throw some dirt on it

 

Those are my feelings exactly!

That board did not represent the organization well. How the organization treated long time fans who were members for many years was shameful.

They could have at least made an announcement on the board that it was being phased out. That would have been common courtesy.

Not sure what you're talking about but the "old board" has been completely down for weeks...the part of the site it was on doesnt even exist. So I'm not sure what in the world you're looking at. Maybe that was the problem you were having issues because it wasnt the current MB (at the time) that you were logging into, haha.

 

They were going to post an announcement about the phase out but the board wouldn't let them log on

 

It was there when I posted that post. I'll see if I can find the grave and post it. It is dead now but the front is still up http://io.steelers.com/fanzone/mboard. That is as far as you can go now. When I posted I could read and saw I was logged in but still had the message I had to join to post

Yeah, I've never seen a url for that board with an "io" either. Looks like the last post on the "official steelers message board" was Sat Jan 14, 2012 10:35 AM.

Saturday January 14th, 2012 - the day the music died. HAHAHAHA

For me, there is no waxing nostalgic about that giant pile of crap over there after the Steelers abandoned us. Good riddance.

 

How did people keep getting there? I thought it died weeks before that.

 

I was on it when we lost to the broncos. I was there a few days later. Then, one day, as the sun was setting on a day that can only be described as a gloomy miserbly rainy foggy evening, you could tell there was a GREAT evil in the air, it was all around, and you just tell something really bad was about to happen and as the hair raised on my arms in a most uneasy way I heard this "CLICK".....

I ran as quickly as I could to my Laptop, I turned it on and searched frantically for my "old friend" but found nothing. I searched throughout the night, here- there- here again using every skill I could muster up, finally come morning,exhausted, I discovered that my friend had died. What a Great friend too. Got me through several bad relationships, saw the birth of my kids and was there when my dog died. Many a morning I would wake up to a glass of Iced Tea and my friend was there, waiting for me. Here's to you old faithful and trusted friend. You were LOVED and shall never be forgotten. And to those that killed you, hhmmm,,, give me a moment............ I'm struggling with forgiving you, I know I must as my Faith says so, but its not easy. Luckily, I have a new friend who's really been good to me, really helping me understand and cope with my lose. In fact, if it weren't for my new friend I fear I may have never recovered.

Thank You New Friend- I truly look forward to many mornings now enjoying our time together.

I've never understood why people miss the old message board. It was the people, not the URL, that made the board. Now that most of those people are here, there's no need for the old board at all. Thans, TTF. You've kept the community together. For that, I'll always be grateful.

 

Hahahaha...too funny! And yes I was one of the last ones there too with you after the Broncos game and such until the last day it died.
