I happen to catch a snippet of a camp report on the Steelers on ESPN this morning but didn't get to hear it since my son was babbling away beside me. They had something about haley's new offense and they talked to Ben then showed him taking snaps and throwing. He was wearing Max Starks number so did anyone see this? Is he supporting Starks again this year or was it old footage they are trying to pass off as current?

Not old footage. He was wearing his jersey yesterday. Here's a pic from a Jim Wexall article posted this morning-

Right at the beginning of this interview from yesterday, he's asked about it.

Off topic of this thread, but I like what he has to say about Rainey in this video, too.

I agree with those happy he's looking out for Starks. In the best possible way too. I love it. I think Max is an asset in more ways than one. I was only ever bummed with him that one year he was franchised and that wasn't even his fault. He fell into a rediculously good situation and took it. He just didn't deserve the pay day. It's the organizations fault for bungling that scenario. He's always played on our SB teams and given his best. And that has been servicable. I think he's a fantastic back up IF IF IF his injury is close to being heeled to 100%.

Some may look at it as just supporting Max but to me it's a not-so-subtle protest against team management. What's next, Ben stages a mini meltdown ala santonio holmes if wallace holds out or essex gets cut? I have no issue if he puts in a plug for his buddy in a private conversation with coaches or even ownership but personally I'd like to see our players, particularly team leaders, stay out of labor disputes especially when they're on the field.

Piss on management, I'd rather have team unity, guys who have each others back and who will bleed for one another. Those are the guys who are going to win us another championship. People can say what they want about Ben, but he definitely sticks up for his teammates and they will love him for it. If the higher ups had a problem with it, Ben wouldn't be wearing it.
