More reps for Skipper, is the upside, I guess.

Injuries are a *****!! Steelers would have won 3 SB's in a row if not for them. If memory serves, it was 1976 and we were on a hell of a run when we had injuries to big to overcome.

Tough break. I remember Greg Lloyd missing most of his first couple of seasons so no need to panic yet. Hopefully, Ola isn't out for long.

76 was considered the best defense the Steelers had under Noll. When Franco and Rocky laid up the defense put the team on its back and laid waste to teams. It why if you have played Madden for years you noticed the 76 Steelers were always on the all time teams even though it wasn't a SB year.

Yep. Rocky and Franco were both out for the AFC Title game that year.

I'm just confused because this was never reported. Have they even said for what yet?

That 76 year to me was the best team the Steelers ever had. Great team until both Franco and Rocky were injured in the playoffs against the Raiders.

Should Ola be out for any extended period of time, not good. Tuzar Skipper better take advantage of this. Otherwise Pittsburgh might have to look for a trading partner by Pre-Seasons end.

Keep in mind Kevin Colbert has made over 20+ trades in the Preseason dating back to 2014. Time will tell of course. We shall see though.

The Post-Gazette is reporting that the surgery was for a torn meniscus and is out two-to-four weeks. If all they did was an arthroscopic procedure to clean out the damaged tissue, I'm guessing he will be ready to play in the opener. Roethlisberger came back very quickly from such a procedure for a torn meniscus in 2016. I had the same issue last year and was feeling close to normal within a couple of weeks and I'm a lot older and in a lot worse shape than Adeniji.

That's why the Patriots are better at free agency.
Instead of just getting rid of it, Brady sold his soul a long time ago.

Which means if he doesn't heal in that timeframe, they go into the season with either one less available OLB or someone gets cut that they want to keep, so they can carry one more OLB...

The rosters are stupid this way.

Last season they only had 3 OLBs active for most of the year.

Oh I know I just think they way these injuries and rosters go...makes no sense.

So they'll have 4 OLB's on the roster because they have to carry him on the 53, but will be limited to 3 in a rotation, when another player could be up helping out.

    Player safety is a joke.

I agree. I know it is all about equal competition, blah blah, but with the emphasis on safety and building a sustainable team I think the NFL should go a different direction. Have a protected 60 man roster, increase game day rosters to 50 or 52. This would be a win win for teams and players. The investment in salary vs. practice squad player is minimal, the team can keep and develop these players without fear of someone else grabbing them with no compensation. The players have more security.
