There’s a good reason for that

That would have been awesome and with a good pass rush we'd have scared the crap out of offenses. I'm a true believer the games are won in the trenches and although I was hoping for a true Center I'm happy we are addressing the O-Line.

Remember Ben calling attention to it in the locker room after SB? He was sort of mocking the talking heads who put down his O-line down all season but they really were not that good. One of the nicer things Ben did for the team.

Why would any team trade for Leal? They could get something for Moore, but I think they will hold on to him.

The problem with trading Freiermuth is they don't have many reliable targets. If they can't add a solid second receiver, he can help compensate.

His arms are actually longer than those of Joe Alt, the 6-foot-8 tackle who went fifth overall.

he always defended his OLINE, even when he was being Evil Knievel and breaking every bone in his body!

Or it was because 6QB,7OT, 6?7? WR, top 3 CB went in the first round. Yes the D this year is weaker, but not THAT much. It was a super deep OL, WR group this year. Could you have predicted 6 QBs this year and 2 as high as they went? CB is real strong also. Just a really weird draft this year! All that high end D talent we won't even sniff without a trade up. We are desperate enough to trade up for a day 1 starter at C, and maybe WR. I just don't see a WR worth the draft pick cost, and you don't trade up in the 2nd for a SCB.

Yeah, but even that 2008 O-line was better than what we've had since DeCastro and Pouncey retired.

Reminds me of the Troy Edwards, or A burns pick. They were taking a Wr no matter what that year Edwards was picked, and a CB the year Burns was picked no matter what.

2008 O-line: Starks, Kemoeutu, Hartwig, Stapleton, Colon

That O-line completely sucked vs. Eagles in regular season... and Hartwig drove me crazy at times, but they were better than any of 2021-23 O-lines.

He looks excellent on film. Big boy has great feet and a motor. Samonian decent like TP which means he may be a hard worker and over achiever ( I know that's a reach ) His coach said he was the best OL he has seen.

i feel differently. Troy E or Artie Toast Burns could have been grabbed in rounds 3 or even 4.

    not this kid.

mocks high and low, left and right had him graded Round 1.

    ok.........

    check please.

I don’t know perhaps they see that he is a square peg in a round hole for our defense and perhaps they think he could be of value for them. He had a high pedigree and he is cheap so maybe a late round flyer on him. I here you on Muth. I doubt they would trade him.

Were those guys both among the top-15 prospects in most rankings? (I have seen only one outside the top 15).

You are mostly right, but no, I don't think Burns or Edwards were going to fall that far. You could make a good argument that both could have lasted into the second round.

Well if you are old enough to remember, Jethro Bodine was a proud graduate of the 6th grade, so in a few years you too could be in line for a career as a brain surgeon, 5 star general. hollywood producer, or even a soda jerk. lol

No way....Yes the 2021 to 2023 o-line had some really bad moment but they had also their moment, like running the ball well.....Outside of Starks who was just fine at best, the 4 others was garbage(like out of the league 2 years later like Hartwig and Stapleton and crazy penalty machine like Kemo and Colon)....And they could not run the ball outside of some game vs chargers

You want to give Cowher all the credit for the defense even when he had Capers and LeBeau , I don't really care about the credit for 2008 I was just joking around.
