This is one of the reasons I hate him so much because he is in effect, pissing on the fans who have been there and supported the NFL all these years in an effort to attract new fans who will be drawn to high scoring no defense games. The NFL was already a billion dollar industry but thats not good enough, lets **** on the faithful fans who have been with us from the beginning to bring in these new fans. :goodell:

I was just about to post this as the worst news I've heard since the wild card round.

    Well.... That SUX!!!!
Not much more I can say about it.
Just wanted to let HugeSnack, know, I read an interesting article about T.O., on Yahoo news this morning.
(That`s the homepage that comes up on our shared computer at work.)
Anyways, apparently he`s almost broke now, after making over 80 million playing football, depressed as crap, friendless, and answers text messages that ask "where are you?", with "In Hell"....
No surprise, he blames the media and every one else, for all this...
Couldn`t happen to a better person, IMO... ;)
I guess you can read the entire interview, on GQ magazine`s website.
I didn`t bother. I got enough satisfaction out of the article on Yahoo News, saying that his life is in the toilet right now... Hahahaha.
Sorry this isn`t related to Goodell, but I saw the comparison to T.O., in Snack`s(I think) reply, and how he thought life was all rosy for him.
Thought he might like to know that`s not the case. :)

I will lay an entire paycheck bet right now that before the 2018 season begins there will be an official NFL team outside of the United States.

I think that if Goodell was replaced we would get another commissioner who would do the bidding of the collective owners.

So what if there is? There are teams outside the USA in MLB, NBA, and the NHL. And the world still spins.

I couldn't care less if a team moves to another country, but I don't want more teams.

Also, I think it would be stupid to have a team in any country you have to cross an ocean to get to, which is where he's looking. Mexico, Canada, Puerto Rico, go for it. England? Ugh.

The stars of the league can hardly make it through a season healthy as it is now... unless you're in favor of strapping on the flag belts, I don't see how you can support a longer season.

I'd love to see more games, but not at the expense of the players health, or the integrity of the game (big hits).

I agree. Having teams fly overseas just increases expenses and puts the traveling team at a disadvantage unless they travel a few days earlier. Hell, some players complain about having to fly cross country. How about The Niners or the Raiders having to fly to England?

Yes. I think all of this hate and anger directed at Goodell is MISdirected. If you wanna be pissed at somebody be pissed at the owners. They're the ones who put him in the position in the 1st place and now have chosen to keep him there for another 6 years. He's clearly running the NFL just like the owners want him to or he'd be out. He does make a good whipping boy though I must admit :lolol:

This line is why we, as a consumer base, will continue to get bent over. If we would just grow a pair, realize that we don't NEED anything these people are offering, and boycott the sport, in toto, then we'd see whatever changes we want. And, until they see us do that, they will continue to say, "Let them eat cake."

You might have stumbled onto something there harristotle. Consider - Goodell and owners want more games, right? Players say no because they feel beat up after 16 games and can't do more. So league starts changing the rules of the game (like no high/low hitting, kickoff change, concussion rules, defenseless player, etc, etc) so players have fewer injuries so owners can justify more games. Are the rule changes that they say are for player safety merely a ploy for a longer season which means more revenue for the owners? Are they sissying up our beloved game so they can make more money? What's next, flag belts as harristotle foresees?

Come on you, consumer base! Grow a pair! I'm talking to you Steeler ticket owners first, you can 'hurt' the MAN the most. Give 'em up. Be on the cutting edge of the boycott. You don't need what they're offering! Be the agent of change! Be the 99%!, You have nothing to lose but your chains! A small sacrifice from you can topple the whole scam! So Season-ticket holders? Are you with me?

Or are you gonna just hang onto you duckets so you can will them to your grandkids?

    I kinda figured.
