It's hardly a mess. We lost a solid corner who got paid more than we were willing and a scrub back up LBer. We brought in a solid corner (former great corner that is a bit past his prime) for the short term at a good price, brought back a quality DL from last year at solid value, got a reasonably priced OG to compete with Dotson for the starting role, and retained a SS who might end up being a starter.

Idk how we classify all this as a mess? We haven't even officially started free agency yet. Still plenty of moves to be made.

I'd bet any of the ILB's or CB's that could potentially be in the 17 or 32 range are on the table.

I agree. But we should have signed at least one inside linebacker by now. Just one. But hey we got depth with Bush

I really think We are going heavy D in the draft this year. Hopefully Bush is gone...Jack is still good...He was just injured, and had terrible partner in bush last year.

I doubt it's for Simpson #17, Khan is there too probably to check out Bresee.

Get rid of Tribisky, keep Mason Rudolph and use the extra money towards an ILB.

    There, I fixed it.

Sure, yeah, exactly which one? What guys are left that you'd be happy with as a starter for the next few years? You can't buy what doesn't exist.

Does Mason want to come back? I wouldn't if I were him.

Good Perrine is gone from the Bengals, he had 3 TDs when they beat the Steelers last year IIRC.

We were never one to make any splash signing. As much as I’d like to have a Tremaine Edmunds or Javon Hargrove type signing it was never going to happen. We will get solid role players and build through the draft.

I have no idea if they have done any restructuring yet, assume they can cut someone...or a post june cut to have the margin they need to get through the season. Like you said I like the signings so far, we really did not have much cash as it was, but keeping who we did and the signings gives depth on those areas, we really need a good draft, but with the tight Cap and Cam going for 11 million a year and Spillane for his chunk, realistically solid depth is about all you can hope for.

Mark your Calender for March 20th then. That is Iowa's Pro Day. Should the likes of even Tomlin and/or Austin be there, there is a good chance that Campbell is the pick. On that note, we are of the same opinion of this.

I like Trenton Simpson a helluva lot more than Devin Bush but I am a bigger believer in Jack Campbell.

Kinda shocked they resigned Larry O. His play was up and down all year.

Combined with the fact that the Steelers sent the literal HOUSE to Clemsons Pro Day, I'd wager $10 that it is likely both Breese and Simpson don the Black 'n' Gold. Personally speaking though, I am still holding out hope for Jack Campbell from the University of Iowa. I have nothing against Simpson but he is better suited as a multi role chess piece than a complete Linebacker. Campbell is essentially, the drafts best one imo.

My guess is another $5M might change his mind. Maybe he goes to Baltimore and makes a Pro Bowl

Total Liability in coverage if he didn't read it and start his drop early. (Which is how some teams attacked him by showing different looks to get him to turn his hips early) On the other hand he probably was one of the better study and above the neck guys on the field. Didn't quite have the athleticism to get there, but he had the awareness.

Was hoping he'd mentor Robinson a bit because the other guys were crap inside.

Really hope this means Jack comes back healthy and Bush is gone. Hopefully second year jump for Robinson as a Thumper!

Rahsaan Evans is available from ATLANTA on a one year deal from the Titans.

    5 year vet. 6’2” 232lbs. 27 yrs old

    2022 - 86 solo 73 assist 2 sacks.

First round pick out of Alabama.

Those are very comparable stats to anyone the Steelers have been looking at and still available.

He’s not going to start anywhere in the league for one simple reason. He’s a career 2nd team player barring injury. So, give him his worth and he doesn’t have to go through the effort of moving and not knowing. Steelers is the devil he knows.

It’s the best place for him.
