Haha, the drunk GM would like to point out HugeSnack's closing signature. No offense Snack but are you sure you want Ward and Smith rubbing off onto younger men?

I'm pretty sure HugeSnack is aware of the humor in it. BTW, I'll take any team left for my 2nd team, if needed.

Ok guys...I have officially opened things up for some of you to have 2nd teams. I for some reason thought the combine started on the 24th not 22nd. I have awarded Steel_Elvis, HugeSnack, Ben there and myself second teams. numbah volunteered also so he will get one of ATL, AZ or SEA as those are the 3 left. So that means 2 teams are up for grabs first come first serve. Thanks guys!

Sweet. Now there's only one team between my two teams, SF and NYG. The only thing that would make that easier is if New England had won the -- never mind.

Gpguy, do you have a target start date in mind?

I was potentially thinking the first week of March even. The draft starts on April 26th this year. And last year we got through the ENTIRE MB Draft...so I figure the more time the better. I'll have a better idea after the combine. But most things usually settle in after the combine (draft positions/etc).

Snack, what you do in the privacy of your own home is none of our business.

P.S. I'm just thankful I was busy the night of your sleepover invitation.

    Done.

Also numbah I gave you the Falcons...and for now I'll keep an eye on AZ...and if anyone comes along and wants them thats fine.

Also this thread will be moving back to the draft forum very soon where it will remain (along with the other threads that will be created). Thanks

Just wondering, will you have another thread about trades? Might be nice to start putting feelers our for who wants to move around...

I have a couple of q's regarding trades.
    1) If i trade someone here, and he is later traded by my team (the Eagles), what takes presidence? I ask because I could see DeSean Jackson getting traded closer to the draft deadline in real life.
    2) Should you perhaps limit the number of trades not involving just draft picks? I only ask because once the draft starts in real life, there are rarely trades involving players, usually only draft picks, and I know the Mock Draft on Steelers.com got pretty screwed up last year because of that problem.

    1. While this answer is in the very first post of this thread I'll answer it here too. Once we officially start your team is locked in and no changes in real life will effect your version of the team.

    2. There are not limits on trades...except no trading future picks (though I have thought of trying involving future picks one year just to see how it goes...since it does happen in the NFL a lot). I try and keep a watch on all trades to make sure they are fair, equal and realistic. Like if someone tried to trade Marcus Gilbert (not that they could as the Steelers do not have GM/etc but still) and even if it was a fair trade it wouldnt happen in real life. There are others out there who keep an eye on things to and let me know about bad trades. Its not a perfect science and some "bad" trades slip through...but it happens (in reality there are bad trades in the NFL too so haha).

SBD - Yes I'm going to be making a couple other threads to be sticky'd along with this one, stand by on those.

I bet you'd never have allowed Carson Palmer for two 1st round picks! :roflmao: Dude was worth a 3rd at best!

Trading future picks would mean those involved are locked in for the following year, to the same teams.

HAhahaha....probably not. And as far as the future picks...i've thought about that....and then I've thought about just acting as if they never happened and everyone has the same picks they would in real life (since this is fantasy...it never happened, haha). But yeah thats the issue with the future picks.

I definitely think that future picks shouldn't be allowed. It's too easy for people to trade those away without consequence.

Agreed. The only way to do it would be to make people keep the same teams in future years which is bad because it gets less people involved... and it also would get to be too complicated in separating the real team's roster changes from your roster changes for the team (i.e. your team may need a RB in real life next season if you drafted them one in the mock this season)...

Oh yeah I know...trust me. I just said I had thought about it, haha...as I had some people last year and maybe a couple this year ask if we can include them since it happens in the real draft. And I wanted to put it out there that i was considering it (though pretty much decided against it obviously).
