I thought I voted - but does not look like it showed up. Would love a quality OL, but seems like the value would be Smith. I vote Smith - S - ND.

If it helps, my second choice would be Smith, so I'm willing to switch my pick Love Washington, think we can get just as good a guard in the third, won't get as good a safetly.

While I'd love an OL also...I agree with most...the value isnt there in my eyes and there are a number of potential good OGs in the next couple rounds. So I'm going to go with a pick that helps in the future more of

    Safety H Smith

which with my vote and these last 2 gives us a clear winner in Smith with 5 votes.

I was thinking about these two as well. Also thought Chris Polk, Bernard Pierce or Lamichael James could be interesting. Looking at LBs still available makes me wonder if we may go in different direction in Round 1 - Cole from NC State and Bobby Wagner are still available. as it stands I am leaning Nix or Senio Kelemete OL from Washington.

    Jeff Allen, OT, Illinois
Brandon Brooks, OG, Miami of Ohio
    Tony Bergstron T/G, Utah
    Mtchell Schwartz, OT, California

Firmly believe NT is a 4th round pick (Chapman, Martin, Fangupo, Jean-Baptiste are all still on the board). If three of those guys don't get picked up by our 4th round pick, I'd be willing to put it off til the 5th round, actually

My first choice is Brandon Brooks... Second is Lamichael James.

I don't like a NT in this slot.

I'll second Brandon Brooks, originally I was thinking Senio Kelemete for the slightly more solid (not a 350 lb blob) nimble guard, but Brooks seems to have run drills quick for his size. My only concern is that Brooks hasn't exactly been exposed to playing against anything remotely close to NFL caliber DL men playing in the MAC.

Re: OFFICIAL STEELERS MB/TSF MB FANTASY DRAFT - STEELERS VOT

Just threw some names out that I saw weren't drafted yet that were highly rated guards/tackles. Sorry about Schwartz. Dont think its time for a RB, or for a nose, since there are some very strong ones left.

My vote: Brandon Brooks, G, Miami of Ohio

Think Nix and Brown will be there in the 4th, and 50/50 Bergstrom is.

My vote is for Lamichael James. Seeing as how Mendenhall and Moore might not be on the team this upcoming season.

But if the rest of you are sold on needing an Olinemen then my pick is for Senio Kelemete

I dont know much about him yet...but from what I see/read/hear Brooks would be a good selection here...so I'm going with Brooks also.

I'll leave voting up a little bit longer and then I will close it. Thanks!

Ok after doing a quick tally....nobody else is going to catch up to Brooks, so I'm calling it.

    ROUND 3 voting is over!

This was even worse than our drafting a safety that has trouble in coverage in R2 :( I'm not sure what people "saw" to indicate that Brooks was the best talent left on the board. Was this about workout numbers and height/weight, or are there reams of game tape of Miami OH floating around online? There were plenty of O linemen available who played against FBS competition successfully (many from top conferences). This pick should have been Josh Chapman, NG, Alabama - or one of several other O linemen.

Depending if some needs are met in the first 2 rounds, I have Brooks in the 3rd round of my mock. He is the same size and has the near same athletic numbers that Cordy Glenn put up. Yes, lesser competition, but alot of draftniks are high on him. Not to mention the Steelers were out in full force at his pro day.

Yeah, maybe I overstated it a bit. If the actual Steelers front office takes Brooks (probably in R4 or later), then I'll probably be OK with it (depending on who they left on the board) because I'll be comfortable that they would have watched enough actual game tape to make a judgment of the football player, not just the workout guy. However, I stand by my comments on Harrison. I have watched him play, and I question whether he will ever be a capable NFL safety in pass coverage. Sure, he'll be a heck of an in-the-box run defender, but I didn't see a guy who looks capable in coverage.

I can buy an argument against the Harrison Smith pick. I still don't think its a bad pick though, considering how far he fell in this draft. I just don't think it was that big of a need, and given the options, I would have opted for a CB. Don't forget, Harrison had 7 INTs in 1 year though.
