Steelers are usually crappy on offense in September... nothing new. The tie vs. Browns killed us... Steelers should be 2-2, which would be PAR for the course for Steelers. Maybe the offense will spring to life in October. They are going to need it, because Falcons, Bengals and Browns will be able to rack up points vs. Steelers D.

Not really optimistic... just notice a pattern of shotty, inconsistent play on offense for the first 4 weeks of almost every season for the past 25 years. This goes back to the Cowher era.

But you did suggest that is possible the offense will spring back to life in October. In my books that is optimistic. I agree with you as well.. I liked Cowher alot more though.. At least he played not to lose. Tomlin appears as though he has no clue of what is going on.

Yes, it can happen starting this week vs. the Falcons. I wouldn't be shocked if the Steelers won... but I won't be surprised if they lost either.

Let's put DHB on Julio, Hayden on the rookie, Burns on Sanu. Have nobody cover the TE as usual.

Well it is no secret that neither side is doing well but Sunday night our D played good enough to win in the 2nd half if they got some help from the offense. You really think the Ratbirds were thinking we have Tucker no need for a TD....no way! I am not and will not stick up for this D cause it is bad but they played well enough in the 2nd half considering how long they were on the field. jmo

I'm not saying any team would pass up a TD for a FG but at that point in the game you don't take the chances you normally would when essentially a FG wins you the game. It's just smart football...

What do you mean at that point of the game? It was tied at half and we were down 3 to start the 4th no team is gonna settle for a FG when they are that close. You may not want to admit it but our D did play well enough for us to win that game in the 2nd half. Like I said I am not sticking up for the D cause it is bad but to say it played bad in the 2nd half I do not agree with. How about some points from the offense in the second half, it only has been 3 weeks since we scored a point in the 2nd half of a game...........:smiley1:

Indeed it did. It was reminiscent of the bend-don't-break defense. They didn't give up a TD. Meanwhile, the offense couldn't even sniff the red zone.

I’m talking about when they were up 6 and then 9 deep in our territory and our entire D seemed to forget how to tackle or lost the heart to tackle The Ravens we’re shredding us at that point. I’m not making excuses for the O they were equally as bad. When your D gives up a 14 play 90 + yard drive with the game on the line...that’s not good enough to win

LOL. The QB's are allowed to pack hockey sticks now in order to beat off defenders.

Dude when they were up 6 it was the 4th quarter. Rats came out and went 6 plays and punted the offense did nothing. The Rats had the ball over 21 min and we had the ball about 7 and a half. At some point the D was gonna get wore down, any team would be being on the field that long. Yeah they gave up a 14 play 82 yd drive for 6 min 40 seconds and guess what happened right after that.....a Ben INT. This D played well enough to win that game Sunday night!

I agree and I am not say the D is good I was just saying for a half they played "good enough" and the offense let us down. jmo :smiley1:

I wonder if Brady, Brees and Rodgers get a Vets Day Off?

We all know these QBs get a sh!tload more preseason reps than Ben does.
