So stupid. Then not even calling a TO. Could have saved time. Tomlin showing his true talent.

 

I’ve always defended Tomlin but, that was the stupidest move since the Seahawks pass at the goal line. We are going to have to move on from this mess

 

All decisions for this football team are on tomlin. remember that. He is the head coach.

Perfectly said. It does not matter if we keep going to the playoffs if we get embarrassed. This soft zone for the last 10 years is imo the number one reason we lose. The bend but not break philosophy on D allows teams to get yards easily which then gives them time of possession, qb confidence, and kills us for field position.

We should of kicked off to them instead of onside but hey another bad call on a day of many of them.

 

Are they purposely trying to throw the game? When does an onside kick work? It is only done when it is THE ONLY CHANCE at winning or tieing a game in regulation. Worst call of the game by far and it will be our death knell. That is enough for me to want Tomlin to GTFO but I am sure we will have to see him on the sideline for years to come....

Cause the defense hasn't been able to stop Bortles all game! No reason to think they'd suddenly turn into the '85 Bears!

 

I don't have a huge problem with the decision, except I've never seen Boswell do that well. It's not the first time he has tried and failed miserably to execute the on-side kick. Just on that, perhaps it was the wrong call. I don't trust the defense at all, but maybe the Jags get super conservative and run for no gain three times if the ball is deep in their own end.

 

Hate the onside call. Some inexcusable coaching decisions today.

 

I'm the biggest Tomlin supporter out there, but that was a terrible decision not to kick it deep. Just awful.

 

I think tomlin wants to get fired with calls like that but the steelers just won't do it

I've wondered this too. He won a Super Bowl with Bill's players. Lost another with mostly Bill's players and has done NOTHING since. Oh wait, he hasn't had a losing season....

Agreed but how many times do you retrieve an onside kick? 10%? 15% or less? Terrible call.
