Just wondering. Apparently Jonathon Martin (T-Stanford) came down with a case of food poisoning, and didn't lift yesterday, and may not run today. If this hurts his draft stock enough to drop him to us, do we take him? Khalil has done nothing but help himself, DeCastro and Reiff are apparently who we thought they were, and I can't see Cordy Glenn lasting to us now. Still a long shot, especially since Adams seems to be on a mission to self-destruct, but whats your opinion?

there is a full body of work over a long time from these guys. it's just not all based on the combine. i doubt adams has self destructed nor will martin drop like a rock based on this. decastro ran slower than thought, so i don't think that will make teams think he's not as good of player as they thought. guys have bad days. they know alot of these guys train just for certain events here. their game tape and overall smarts, physicality and total body of work will all be taken into account.

Yeah, they ran earlier today and the TE group is running now. They just replayed some of the OL runs, and probably will go back to it soon.

If you want to get excited about his good numbers, don't forget to look at the ugly ones - 23" vertical and 8'9" broad jump. Those are two of the 3 Pat Kirwan explosion numbers, and that little umph from his lower body are more of a negative than his 40 time is a positive IMO.

I really appreciate that the NFLN provides us the opportunity to watch some of the events, but I really think that they could do a better job of showing more on-field footage rather than showing the guys up in the booth chatting, among other things. Would be nice if they posted on NFL.com a full replay of the combine minus the commercialization.

Noticed that QB Russell Wilson had the 4th largest hand measured. If we're looking for a developmental QB he may be it, also ran a 4.55.

5'10" Wilson had a 10 1/4" hand vs 6'6" Osweiler who had a 9 7/8" hand. Doesn't mean much for passing (maybe tighter spiral), but it's pretty important for ball security.

Do you think Mike Adams realizes how much money he lost this weekend with that mediocre showing.I mean come on 19 reps on the bench press,David Buehler (a kicker) did 25 a few years ago

Missed some of the on-field drills for Hightower. Right when he was up they cut to commercial a few times. I did see one drill and he looked like what everyone thinks he is; a downhill thumper. Still, if he can line everyone up in the right spot and take on guards, freeing up Timmons to slice in and make the tackle, he's worth a pick.

Walter actually had Hightower as downgraded after the draft, said he looked stiff and slow in drills. I was kind of surprised, because he ran 4.62 twice in the 40, where Walter had him estimated at 4.85, and his major knock before the draft was that he was slow.

I really like Cordy Glenn's numbers. It looks like he's a big boy who can move. Poe probably will be gone by 24, but Glenn should be there. Only like 4 pure guards have gone in the 1st round in the past decade or something like that so Glenn should be there. How great for us that our weakest position is one which is not highly viewed in the draft.

    what i found on hightower

During drills, Hightower showed some stiffness changing direction and was not quick in coverage drills. His backpedal looked mechanical and forced, while Hightower showed little in the way of being able to burst out of his plant. He's a big, forceful linebacker with solid straight line speed, but Hightower did nothing today to dispel the belief he's a two-down defender
The stopwatch. 4.68 in the short shuttle is not fluid. Neither is 7.55 in the cone. 14 OL at Indy had better numbers in the SS, 7 OTs in the cone. That's barely in the top 3rd among all OL in the shuttle.

That's what he shows on the field as well. I have reservations about Hightower as an ILB. However, when he was asked to rush the passer at Alabama, he showed really good pass rushing skills off the edge (they often moved him to the edge in sub packages). I am very much a non-believer in Worilds, so I think a 3rd edge pass rusher is a pretty big need for us.
