    Thoughts on last night:
Steeler Football is so much Fun! Crowd was going wild all night. Felt like a regular season game. My friend's son Jake did not get into the game. Tailgaters were out early. The Pitt Football Team and coaches were there to support Kenny. Different not to see Big Ben on the sidelines!
Run D was subpar again. Bush over ran 2 plays in a row, and then "froze" on the play that got the ball down to our 3. Got to do better than that! Not a lot of other D starters played, but Tre Norwood had a great game. Hard to rate the D since nobody played.
The O Line was a mixed bag, some good runs, but couldn't pick up 3rd. and 1. Mason Cole is an upgrade at center, but he has to come off the ball better. Line needs to work on getting a better push. John Leglue had a great blitz pick up on Mason's T.D. pass, and yes preseason or not, the seachickens were blitzing. Kendrick Green maintained his lead on Dobson in my view. Jaylen Warren cemented in my mind that he should be the #2 back behind Najee, who didn't play, but at halftime received The Joe Green Performance Award for being the best rookie last year. W.R. Pickens will show he was the steal of the draft, and he should win The Joe Green Award next year.
Myles Jack is a beast! A. Maulet got beat by a couple of big T.E.'s .
Wasen't pretty, but lots of things to work on, and some things to build on! On to pre-season week 2.

I thought our offense was going to be more run oriented or at least balanced

The pass run ratio was about 37/22

I wouldn't take much stock in a pre-season game, they were working on more run plays at camp, and they probably won't show most of that stuff till the regular season starts. Plus the seachickens were crowding the line of scrimmage, and blitzing our "unproven" q.b.'s. The evaluation on run/ pass needs to be done later in the season. Plus, we are having a Q.B. battle, so the coaches probably wanted to see what each guy has? That said, I was disappointed that they passed and didn't run the ball in when they were deep in seachicken territory.

I know it's early, but Jack looks like an improvement over Schobert.

All of that makes sense. Most importantly, they need to evaluate the quarterbacks. Trubisky is new to the system and Pickett is a rookie. They both need reps.

They still managed to give Warren and Teague some looks. That's the other factor. Harris didn't play. Once the real games start, the ball is going to be in his hands a lot.

Probably just to evaluate the QB’s a little.

Are you sure Zach Gentry played? I can't find him in the box score? And if he didn't play why would they sit Gentry with Pat out?

No offense to letting Connor play, but Gentry is still a developing TE and needs the snaps to get better. Unless he is injured?

And in the regular season,it will depend to several factor like the score, the down and distance and also if the running game will be good or not,so when you look at the run pass ratio,we always need the context

I don't makes sense to me. 3 new quarterbacks that needed practice time. The main running back not playing. Seems like the above was expected from my perspective.

Sorry....I was completely wrong. It was Kevin Rader that made that catch I was thinking of. After re-watching for the 3rd time.....I was like....why did I think it was Gentry, but on the 4th re-watch....I realized.....as soon as Rader makes the catch ....the announcer says something like....Gentry, and others probably won't play.....so I heard Gentry.....well that's My excuse. LoL.
Sorry I was wrong, and gave misinformation.
