One way to stop a run game is to score some freakin’ points when you’re in the red zone. Those interceptions were killers. Score points there, the whole dynamic changes.

The offense didn’t help, but the physicality and lack of big plays by our defense is pitiful. 200 yards rushing is an indication that their offense had their way with our defense, points notwithstanding. If they’d had competent QB play and not glorified practice squad players in there they’d have dropped 30 on this defense easily.

That was a horrible game. Hopefully pickett doesn't turn into injury prone with concussions

The turnovers in the red zone and blocked field goal keep the Steelers from playing with a lead. A lead likely changes the thought process of Harbaugh and the Ravens and who knows, maybe they throw the ball more which isn't what their offense would be suited for with a third string quarterback.
Debate all you guys want about whether it was a good performance by the defense or not, the fact remains that the result is a loss. When that happens, neither side of the ball was good enough.

I'm still in disbelief that they had no holding calls on a line where they kept swapping OTs in and out.

From here on in they need to see what we have on the roster at every position. Robinson, DeLeal

Might as well start working on next year and they better hit in the draft or they will continue to suck.

I have seen bad Steeler teams in the past but this one is so shallow in depth it is scary. Cam is getting old and showing it but the cupboard is bare behind him. All the rest of the DL is not even average.

Big deal, 16 points against a couple a guys who will spend their careers as backups. 200 yards rushing is pathetic and speaks to the lack of physicality by this defense irrespective of the points scored. A competent quarterback would have hung 30+ on this feckless defense.

I would have to respectfully disagree with the Steelers being an "above average team" at this point. I do believe that there are some good building blocks going forward though. As for coaching, I would like to see the staff overhauled from the HC on down, I highly doubt Tomlin is going anywhere, so at least hopefully, Canada and Austin will be let go. I just don't see anything from either of them that excites me about their side of the ball.

Oversimplistic. They allowed a practice squad QB to get them in to FG range. Should never happen. The only splash plays were Minkah's hit on Huntley and Watt's sack. They couldn't get a stop at the end on third down. The number of points they gave up is like saying that the only stat that matters for a QB is completion percentage. They lost the game because Trubisky threw three interceptions, that much is true. But let's not act like that was a tremendous defensive effort because they only conceded 16 points. This defense stinks, period and they were very average today.

Absolutely not. The defense got pushed around like a blocking sled. The offense sucked for sure, but the defense couldn’t get a stop against a third string QB when they had to have it.

I agree with this. Some people want to absolve the defense of any blame. They lost primarily because of turnovers. All three phases deserve blame no matter what spin one chooses to put on this loss.

Defense cant stop nobody, yet its the offense fault. I agree 2-3 ints took sure points off the board…BUT the defense wasnt going to stop the run.

And 16 points was enough to win the game today. Our offense sucked, not disputing that, but our defense was pathetic too. Our D was manhandled this game, irrespective of the number of points a couple of backup quarterbacks were able to put up. When the D gives up 200 yards rushing, that’s NOT an acceptable performance.

Getting a kick out of the "injury prone" comments. Any QB on the planet would have had his bell wrung by that hit.
