Ben Bredeson according to PFF, had 451 snaps in pass protection and did not allow a QB sack or hit. He only allowed 7 hurries. 2 Pressures against OSU, but none vs Iowa, Notre Dame or Mich. State.

They are higher on Jackson and he has just one combined sack and hit on 1,020 pass-block snaps.

I love Muti's brawler style of play but man....the injury history is concerning. And he just bench pressed an aircraft carrier at the combine too. Stenburg's propensity for penalties is a drawback and I don't know a lot about Pinter, but the rest of the list would be a-ok.

arm length is really the issue with Bredeson....31-1/8 which isn't good. But Bredeson is 6'5" 315. Jonah Jackson has 33-1/2 arms and is 6'3" 306. Nick Harris has 32-1/8 arms at only 6'1"302. But the team did draft AQ Shipley in the 7th round way back when and he had 29 -3/4 arms or so. Ramon Foster by the way had 34-1/2 arms so they may like the longer reach. Tough call .....do they like the length in height better or in reach?

    I don’t know.

You were one of the people who liked Jackson in the offensive line thread :lolol:

I do like Jackson trust me....and I like Bredeson too. I was legitimately interested in the stats on the two. I am first and foremost a believer in the line of scrimmage and whoever wins that battle most likely takes the game and therefore would pick lineman more often than not. That post was me seeking info on an article I probably did not see.

Well this will shock at least one person....right @Blast Furnace????

I am voting Jonah Jackson and here is why:

Jackson should be a plug-and-play guard at the NFL level with the versatility to fit in any scheme called by the offensive coordinator.

I wanted Hennessy last pick so this makes the most sense to me. Here is a guy at a position we are super weak at and the ability to play center too.

    I looked it up:

Bredeson 1270 pass blocking snaps. 2 sacks 9 hits, 26 hurries. Rd 5 projection

Jackson 1020 pass blocking snaps, 1 sack, 0 hits, 24 hurries Rd 2 projection

Basically they feel Bredeson is solid but about as good as he is going to get and worry about his leverage being exposed at the next level.

One of the things they are drawn to Jackson is he has done it at both right and left guard. Plus he can play center. Love his balance.

Excellent work! What I definitely like is that we are talking about two prospects from the Big 10. Jonah Jackson gained most of those numbers against the MAC but still killed it with his time at OSU. Coming from a B1G fan either one is tells me they are a good FB player.

I'll throw in on Jonah Jackson too then. Would have been equally happy with Bredeson though

I think it’s safe to call it in favor of Jackson. While I supported Mr. Game Manager, Jake Fromm State Farm, I do think Jackson is a really good pick here.

I agree and honestly I am liking our chances still with Gordon, Stanley, McDonald and Montez still on the board as guys that may be able to help as well. I like Montez a ton and think he is worth a look down the road.
