I was thinking Monday would be the best day to start, give everyone plenty of notice. But since I have the first pick, I will bend to the will of the community.

I figured Monday would be best, too. The way we're set up this year, I expect we can good progress.

Monday is good, that should accommodate Chitown as well.

FYI Chitown, if its getting close to your pick and you know you wont be around, PM a few options in order of preference and Ill make the pick with whomever is left.

That applies to anyone who wont be around when they are up. Can PM me or any committee member.

Denver will be awarded to NYSteel if no one else claims them as a second team.

I know, just don't like the idea of having to do that with both the Rams and Bears first picks of the draft.
Happened to me last year where the draft started on the weekend and I couldn't make my pick.

But Monday works out perfectly if that's the start.

Monday sounds good. What time? Open it up at 6 PM Eastern for the Browns to dash another young player's hopes and dreams?

Barring some ridiculous trade offer, San Francisco will be on the clock about 8:02. I won't be online Monday morning, but Blast will have Cleveland's pick.

We kicked it off 8am last year. Sounds good to me to make that the official start.

We will have to update the Selections page with some of the trades that have occurred. Saints get the #32 pick plus other picks which were swapped.

    Also the browns-Texans trade.

    Any other ones?

It is 8:03 edit. By this time tomorrow the Browns will have made the first pick of the draft (as long as Blast is prompt). Plan accordingly. This years group seems motivated, there are fewer people involved, and picks may be made pretty quickly. Just because you have pick number 7, or 10' or 12' don't assume you won't be picking til Wednesday or Thursday. You may be on the clock Monday or Tuesday.

The draft order has been updated. Once we begin, the order is official regardless of what trades are made afterwards in real life.

@SteelCity_NB - considering it was Cincy, was the Sidney Jones pick supposed to be green text? Just curious since he's basically out all year

I apologize for going out of Clevelands comfort zone and trading UP in the draft, but damn, Leonard Fournette at 20? What were you guys thinking?

I almost took him for Jacksonville. It was a decision between replacing Bortles or getting him a franchise RB.

Why? Who did he shoot, rob, solicit or beat up in a nightclub?

Well I almost took him for the Jets but thought the Jets could use D help, then I had the Eagles and they needed CB help real bad. That was the reason I offered a trade for Denver since they traded their 2nd rounder for Bortles they could use another pick and I thought Fournette could land them a pick.

While Fournette would have helped Jamies Winston and Head Coach Dirk Koetter smash through NFC South defenses... what about their defense?

Besides, as I stated, Tampa Bay's safeties are not good enough to handle the juggernaut of the behemoths like Kelvin Benjamin, Micheal Thomas and Julio Jones. A versatile player that can not only improve Tampa Bay's run defense but also provide Vernon Hargreaves III some backup ia exactly is what is required.

Besides, there is no guarantee he would have made it to the Bucs 2nd pick; Macrus Williams the same. Obi Melifonwu solves so many of the current issues that plague the Tampa Bay defense.

There is only so much one running back can do even with an ascending tandem like Winston or Evans. Besides, Winston is not at the level that hia fellow NFC South quarterbacks are yet. Besides, keying in on Leonars Fournette is not going to be much of an issue wheres how Tampa Bay stops opposing teams will.

Obi Melifonwu may not be the "sleek Lamborghini" many may want but he is the "steady Eddie" Dirk and Mike Smith need to win the NFC South.

Things are moving at a good clip. Almost through rd 1 already.

Few more selections and voting on the Steelers pick can begin.
