Discussion in 'The Bill Nunn Draft Room' started by gpguy, Mar 8, 2015.
Arizona Cardinal's time has expired @ 1200 EST and the Steelers are on the clock.
w/ the 24th pick of the 5th round the Steelers select:
Tyler Kroft, TE, Rutgers
Carolina is on the clock and anyone can pick for AZ!
The Panthers draft Bobby McCain CB Memphis....
The Arizona Cardinals draft Jeff Luc ILB, Cincinnati...
TAMPA BAY is on the clock
Looks like we aren't going to finish rd 5... Shame
For what it's worth Dallas is also now on the clock
as long as the picks are in by Saturday we should be fine I would think.
We usually call it off by the draft. Still have a little time to finish this rd but looks like the 5th will be the end of it. I think thats when it usually fizzels out.
You are correct, we stop as the real draft starts Thursday at 8pm.
via PM..w/ the 27th pick Dallas selects:
Junior Sylvestre, LB, Toledo
anyone can pick for TB now...and Denver is on the clock now...
When do we decide who won?
I was about to nominate myself, but the Steelers actually did incredibly well. Our top two picks have both skyrocketed in real life, and now seem like major steals, where they didn't at the time. I also like the other 3 picks. I'd be very happy with this draft.
I think it's quite clear the panthers had the best draft!!!!
We're basically wrapping this thing up. Everybody compile your picks into a list so we can see.
1. (Free) La'el Collins, OT/OG, LSU
2. Phillip Dorsett, WR, Miami
3. Denzel Perryman, ILB, Miami
4a. Javorious Allen, RB, USC
4b. Tyeler Davison, NT, Fresno State
5. Kevin White, CB, TCU
Pluggin' holes with Pro Bowlers left and right. Boo-yah.
With the 28th pick in the 5th round the Broncos select:
Josh Harper, WR Fresno St
The Colts are on the clock
I haven't had the chance to look at all selections but I will say while I was trying to make picks for teams to get this round done I looked at the Saints draft and loved it. I wish it was the Steelers draft, Waynes(cb), Kikaha and Muldin(olb) and Lockett(wr) are all guys we have needs for and have had good college careers!
Since nobody has selected for Tampa yet
With the 26th pick in the 5th round the Bucs select
Mark Glowinski OG West Virginia
The Colts are still on the clock.
NY Steel is correct
That guy is a jenius and should probably be working in the Steelers front office as the GM.
But seriously I did get who I wanted for the Saints in almost every round.
Except for the Steelers 1st pick I can't say that it was a successful draft for them. Still think we reached in the 2nd and 3rd. Diggs in the 5th would have been an absolute steal but we went TE instead.
But as always I had fun doing this. I'll send a recap for my 2 teams (New Orleans and Seattle) sometime tomorrow. Next year I will not take 2 teams again though. to much argument in my head while trying to select for 1 team let alone 2 teams.
With the 29th pick in the 5th round, the Indianapolis Colts select:
Zach Zenner, RB, South Dakota State
The Green Bay Packers are on the clock.
I disagree with your assessment of the Steelers' draft. I think we did pretty darn well, and the so-called draft experts would generally agree. Just looking at how our picks compared to some of the big boards out there, we generally got our guys later than the big board ranks. Frankly, nobody will be able to grade it with any accuracy for at least 2 - 3 years, but I would be very pleased if we end up with the same results this weekend. Here are comparisons of our 5 picks with our draft position, and rankings on Mayock's top 100 (MM), CBS/Draft Scout (CBS) and The Huddle Report's Top 200 value board (THR). I've added Diggs for comparison to Kroft. I think either guy would likely represented good value in the 5th.
1. Dupree (pick 22, MM 11, CBS 13, THR 11)
2. Rowe (pick 56, MM 44, CBS 38, THR 43)
3. Golson (pick 87, MM 62, CBS 118, THR 98)
4. Anderson (pick 121, MM 86, CBS 89, THR 82)
5. Kroft (pick 160, MM 81, CBS 134, THR 103)
Alt 5. Diggs (pick 160, MM N/A, CBS 122, THR 108)
1. Malcom Brown - DT - Texas
2. Nelson Agholor - WR - The Wanna-Be USC
3. Jay Ajayi - RB - Boise State
4. Trey Flowers - DE/OLB - Arkansas
5. Lynden Trail - DE/OLB - Norfolk State
I'd be totally happy with this draft, the first 3 picks are great and Anderson was very good value, my only thing with that pick is no way they draft 4 defensive players in a row and Kroft, even know though I would have went a different direction, has a lot of potential.
You are entitled to your opinion sir as am I.
Doesn't make either of us correct.
No, he's right, you're wrong. Shenanigans. Couldn't help myself.
I think it's fair to say that there is a two way tie for first.
Shane Ray, DE, Missouri
Eric Kendricks, LB, UCLA
Ali Marpet, OG/T, Hobart
Derron Smith, S, Fresno St.
Vince Mayle, WR, Washington St.
Kevin Johnson, CB, Wake Forest
Devin Funchess, WR, Michigan
Paul Dawson, LB, TCU
Garrett Grayson, QB, Colorado State
Cameron Artis-Payne, RB, Auburn.
Fixed it for you.
The Eagles had the best draft. They might as well just cancel the season and give us the trophy.
Landon Collins, SS, Alabama
Preston Smith, DE, Mississippi St.
Jeff Heuerman, TE, Ohio State
Mitch Morse, OG, Missouri
Alani Fua, OLB, Brigham Young
Darren Waller, WR, Georgia Tech
Brandon Bridge, QB, South Alabama
