I hope not. More than likely Colbert will sign solid bargain free agents so they don’t have to draft for need. Best player available is the far better long term option.

Well, how do you KNOW that? No one knows the future and one opinion is as right or wrong as another. I think BB eats this rookie OC alive and does what he wants until I see different. JMO again>

I read something this week where they already know they will have to limit what Canada wants to put in because Ben cannot run the plays, it also takes specific OL players and of course RBs. That, along with Ben just doing what Ben wants leads me to believe the O is going to be very generic.

Doubt it, Canada is a hard ass, kind of like Haley but more personable.

They have too many other needs to draft a player like Toney in the first 2 rounds.

It's ridiculous for fans to make statements about what the offense is going to be without seeing one snap yet, I'm sure the team talked to Ben about the offense before agreeing to bring him back.

that doesn't mean they can't fill those needs too. we have 8 picks. toney helps what ben does best and helps and works in canada's type of offense. players have to fit the system first. just because the draft sites have one guy ranked higher as say a lineman, if he doesn't fit the teams system it just detracts from his ability to help.

They can find that type of player later, goal number one should be improving the running game, within the first 4 rounds they need a LT, C, RB, and could use a all around TE.

Not with the NFL throwing the ball from multiple wr sets over 60% of the time. They have a LT and RBs. They need a center and a LB, corner and another wr. We have lost two wrs and two corners, a center and two ILBs. Two ILB s are not worth keeping. One can't stay off the injury list and one isn't very good. A rb can easily be gotten later.

You have been pushing ILB for some time, and the more I look at the breakdown of the D last year that really is where we lost a lot of momentum. We had other key losses, but w/o Bush and trying to play with the guys we had is showed how vulnerable we really were in the middle of the field.

Yeah because every other player in the league came in out of shape. Plus it sounds like he had his chance to work himself back in the shape on two different teams and couldn’t get it done.

And you have first-hand knowledge of this, genius? Who is your source in the organization that can corroborate your statement? Or are you the one talking out of your butt like you say everyone else is?

Ben will run whatever offense Ben runs, no matter what you say. Ben is limited in what offenses he can run, mentally and physically. No matter how much you don't want to believe that, THAT is a fact. Ben has run the offense for years. Fact. It has been built for and caters to Ben. Fact. Ben has durability issues, bad knees, and a reconstructed throwing elbow. Facts.

Those facts all point to a very similar offense in Ben's last season. There is nothing that points to anything other than a small-ball, quick-release scheme that replaces short-yardage rushing with short-yardage passing.

Could that change with luck in drafting/acquiring the right players to fill our substantially large holes on the OL? Sure could. But right now, we have no idea if the changes coming to the OL will produce the necessary results to keep us from being the worst rushing offense in the NFL for a second straight year. And if we repeat as the worst rushing team in the NFL, Ben will be part of the same one-dimensional, easy-to-defend offense that derailed a potentially great season.

And I'm talking out of whatever orifice you are listening to right now. Also a fact.

They don't have a proven LT, they already used a second round pick on Claypool, Washington, and a third round pick on Johnson. They need to get younger on the OL, and they need a feature RB, a WR can be gotten later.
