Ode to Autumn

Hey Everyone.

Many, or some of you, have noticed that I enjoy writing a lot of long, but what I like to think well-thought out posts here. I do a lot of writing, with poetry being one area of particular interest. I am especially fond of nature and the seasons as one of my favorite topics.

I really enjoy Autumn the most as one of its associations for me is football and our beloved Steelers. As today marks the first day of Winter, I dug up an old poem that I thought may be appropriate for our stretch run here. It is not the complete version, just what I thought may be applicable for our situation now.

If this was not appropriate to post in this Forum I do apologize to the administration. Personally, I thought it might be okay as we are in this playoff hunt while Autumn had turned to Winter last night and as I say, we are still “Significant”.

Anyway, I hope that each of you who take the time to read it find it both enjoyable and applicable to our Steelers’ mission here. Please feel free to critique or provide feedback if you would like. Wow ... I would like to use this poem. I, always said that, time was an enemy of mine.

 

If posts are more than a few sentences, I fall asleep and I have to move on. That's just me though.

 

Post and poem should be titled "Ode to Playoffs".Steelers, beat the Jets, dammit.

Nice poem. Just a little too sappy for game day if you were to ask me. Here's one I like on Sunday mornings in December.

My favorite poem is by the great laureate Al Bundy:

I woke up and put my traitorson jersey on then lit myself on fire for you lol

 

As a writer myself, I enjoyed this poetry! Very good!

It is open for interpretation as you know with poetry. One way to look at it, as I do in part, is we are now moving out of the mellowness of Autumn and into the fierceness of Winter. Some people have stated that I am morbid at times with my infatuation with Autumn and Winter. Man, I don't care if people think I am morbid. I may be at times, like some people. We all have our moments. you know you and I have always been cool BBH.

I have an expression you may like: "When it rains the World is mine". This is because most people, from my experience, do not like inclement weather. Thus, many imprison themselves inside where I am embrace having the outdoors (the world) all to myself. You could also substitute rain with snow there. Hey, feel special BBH. You are only one that got the inside track to that one (smile).

He was someone you either hated or liked,
He thought coaching in the autumn was OK and swell,

That music is so freakin' awesome. One for the ages. We used to hum it as we played in the streets, playgrounds, etc. as kids. It is just one classic song that no matter who your team is, you just have to love and respect it. I got jacked just listening to it now. Thank you my friend. A little bright spot on a tough first full day of Winter.

Hey Disco, do you know if our playoff hopes are totally over now after our results from today?. It seems, from what I read around on the Board, that there are still some low chance scenarios that we can get in. No need to explain them just a simple yes or no if you know.
