Does anybody know what the potential timeline is for the OC selection? I know the season isn't even technically over yet, but I'm a little anxious to see who they hire...

Good question harristotle. Even the Rooneys may not have a clue as of yet.

I kind of had a feeling that was the case. I'm real curious, regardless of who it ends up being, how the offense looks next season.

hopefully in a week or two, otherwise I'm worried that the good external candidates might be gobbled up by then.... whomever they might be.

No rush. Im sure there are many that will be lining up for a shot at that job. Look around at all the jobs around the league and say if you were qualified where would be the best place to go. On the flip side the majority will think whoever is hired needs to be fired preseason game 1.

If looking in-house, could be a little more than 2 weeks.
Otherwise, they'd better hurry up or the good ones will be gone.

I read today that Haley could land in Pitt South (AZ). Hue Jackson seems a possibility.

They have to have a replacement in place before the official end of the season. That way as players take off for the break they can have an idea for OTA's, personal work outs and so on. That way it gives the players maximum amount time to prepare for learning a new system or tweaking the old one and adjusting to a new way of doing things.

Haley back to AZ? Don't they only have an opening for QB coach? Would seem odd that in a three year span his progression would be back to a demotion on the team he used to be the OC of.

My bet would be the week after the superbowl. You never know that might want the chance to interview somebody from the Gaints or Patriots staff. Plus this is a little bit of idle time for teams that are out of it, but once the Superbowl is over things get busy in a hurry with the upcoming draft and free agency so, they will be sure to hire one by then.
