Here is a good way to get the running game going it's a strong concept and we have the guys to run it.. Ray Ray and Claypool can both play that RB position simple reads in RPO that could help our OL get the run game going

Good videos that match the talent we have we shouldn't have to wait until Ben takes over the play calling to be able to attack on Offense ..We used to run a bunch of this Offense in HS the screen games are very effective to the WR ..I could see Ray Ray doing great things from these types of sets and causing the Defense to stop clogging the middle ...

    1. Our OC can't handle basic offensive game planning, let alone something creative.
    2. Using Ray-Ray and Claypool as running backs is asking for injury, there is just too much weight being flung around in the pile for guys with toothpick legs to survive.

You dont Run the WR into the piles ..The WR is the motion RB for the screen basically a punt return ..You also run them on Quick pitches to the 2 WR side again basically the same as a Punt return .. The RB who gets the middle of the OL work is the true RB ...They can also be used on a swing pass opposite the 2 WR side again not in the pile..

It's basically another way to expand the Jet sweep type of stuff and spread the LB'S to open up the inside running for the true RB .. As shown on the video it also forces the Safety to declare if he is helping the 2 WR side or not .. If he doesn't and Ebron and Claypool are the 2 WR'S I throw the screen to Ray Ray everytime until the Safety does committ at that point you have the numbers inside to run that's why it works so well..

Agreed play action can (and does) work, but for it to work you have to establish a legitimate threat at running the ball.

true..... we established the stretch run with our wr's, which is why the reverse worked so well...… We also had success with the draw play, due to our passing effectiveness...
maybe it's time to start using the pass to set up the run

Again agreed, the word from the players yesterday was back to basics..nearly every sweep they ran yesterday did not fool anyone.

Remember when there was someone who wrote that Ben didn't like PA because he has to present his back to the defense, which i didn't buy. Early in his career he was very good at it and now not so much. Heck watching Aaron Rodgers hide the ball on his hip yesterday and then hit a wide open man in the endzone was a thing of beauty. Ben could do it to.

This is one of those football "truisms" that turns out not to be true. Anyone who has analyzed data on play action passing effectiveness finds no correlation between frequency of rushing or effectiveness of rushing with play action success. There's actually more evidence that using play action passing frequently might help make running the ball more effective than the other way around.

One of the most interesting things about this analysis, and it's not alone in finding this, is that there is a lot of evidence that play action passing is more successful than non play action passing. It's being underused by coaches because they buy into the faulty argument that it's first dependent on running the ball.
