Did anybody mention Kliff Kingsbury? I don't think he should be running a team, but he is a creative offensive coach. He would be a good option.

I wouldn't mind seeing Whipple as quarterbacks coach. He was Pickett's OC during his big season at Pitt.

I thought I did , but a while back when I mentioned Bobby P. Some of these guys are great OCs, but horrible HCs, but we don't need them as HCs. ....so

I'm no fan of McDaniels. But he is by far the most qualified OC out there right now. He's a tit but unlike some of these other clowns people are throwing out there he has a strong grasp of how to build gameplans and experience doing that at the highest level. Someone will hire him and end up with a good OC who no owner will touch as a head coach, which is quite valuable given that if you hire some unknown as OC and he does well he'll be hired away rather quickly. Guy is sort of a Buddy Ryan type in that regard.

Re: Shanahan I never said he runs only zone. But there is a dominance around the league now in running zone, ton of linestepping going on, and philosophically I want an offense that can run with power and stretch the field vertically. Shanahan does not stretch the field vertically, and it's one of many reasons why he comes up short in the playoffs.

Fire Tomlin, hire Ben Johnson as head coach and have him take complete control of the offense.

Whisenhunt. He was a damn good OC for young Ben.

Of some of the other names I've heard bandied about...

Not against Leftwich being the choice. I don't think he's particularly creative, but he is steeped in that Arians belief of stretching the field vertically, which I am a fan of.

Tierney would be a very strong choice. Problem is a guy like him is smart enough to look at the QB and say "oh hell no."

Roman would probably be one of the best possible choices in that he won't be a guy owners will poach, he's not the most creative guy around but a great teacher and maximizes his QB.

see how sullivan does. faulkner. thomas. wouldn't mind munchak back as o-line and run game help. maybe meyer will improve and all these guys can finally put their two cents in now that canada is gone. this is a wait and see situation. most of these guys had favorable coaching stints.

Steeler insider saying Cliff Kingsbury. Very interesting. Word is that Lincoln Riley is headed to Chicago Bears next year so I’d think he’d get offered the USC job and take that, so I doubt he comes here.

What bout bringing Haley back in? He got the ire of the board like Arians before him, never understood that, but thought he was decent. Think Tomlin has his eye on Leftwich?

There could be a few openings. So, I could see both of the in the mix for HC positions.

No. No he wouldn’t. One, I don’t want to lose him from FSU, and two, I don’t want to lose him from FSU

If they win out, or go 5-1 more than likely they will keep Sullivan

i liked sullivan as an option before canada. called a good game. kenny looked good. still have to score more going forward. player mistakes need cleaned up. muth is healthy now but he has sat around for 4-5 weeks, he should. big stretch run coming. faulkner also gets some credit for the changes in preparation he made. much better cohesion. build on it.

Agree, while your at it, take Leftwich off the list also, not sure why he is wanted cause he was carried by Tom Brady and then gone when Brady left. Tom ran that show in Tampa and Leftwich was just a name for OC. Also nobody else wants him.

Frank Reich has been fired by the Panthers as of this morning... Not advocating for him in one way or another, but he is and will be available. Don't think he is getting another HC job at the moment, might be looking for OC positions.

I think it's more likely he just retires. Didn't he have some type of health issue?
