not as easy as you all think. X 5 guys. dotson, moore, green alone have had 3 coaches so far. two last year and one this year. sarrett, klem, morgan and now myers. chuks has had 4 coaches now. he came in under sarrett. cole 3. cards, vikes, now myers. daniels at least 2. it's a little more complicated then fire off and hit a guy. look at down the line for haeg, leglue, hassenauer, they all have had multiple coaches. it's going to take a little time. hate to say it but it's not just plug another guy in that's the problem.

I understand not giving up the house unless its a sure thing. Hell Danials was supposed to be a sure thing and has been a disappointment.

They have to find out and quick or its back to quick passes and a struggling run game and the QB running for his life.

Didn't know that. Sure doesn't show how he just gets overpowered. You would think the O line coach would notice and work on his stance and attack. I still feel he just doesn't have it at this level. Maybe If he sits out and goes through more training maybe then? Just don't see it at this point after witnessing last year and it has carried over to this year with zero change.

correct - it's instability at coaching and scheme - as I have stated in a number of threads.
Tomlin has done this. Gayle Sayers could not run behind this line. Ben probably would still be around if they had the 2015 line last year.

It'll be interesting to read about this after the first 4 or 5 games.

Interesting. Are we talking about high school players (who after less time are expected to execute as coached) or professionals who have been directly coached how to play for several weeks now? Not trying to be a smart azz but I had higher expectations if what you say is true. JMO>

The QB position is one of the more complex in understanding and executing an offensive scheme (Canada's Offense, whatever that is) to make the offense run proficiently. We didn't even have a QB coach until a few years ago and threw in Duck and MR to run our offense. Now we seem to think our OL isn't functioning the way it should, even with dedicated position coaching all through camps and preseason, due to a change in personnel. How many teams with new coaching staffs this year will have an OL as bad as ours? Maybe we just have lineman that aren't that good and/or coaching that isn't either. Maybe they get their act together and it works out. Whatever it is, they need to get wherever fast or we'll run out of QB's and RB's to IR and dig a hole we can't get out of record wise. JMO>

Certain plays I watch him closely, and you're right...He looks anything but a weightlifting Champ... Actually he looks the total opposite, he looks weak AF and gets driven back and lifted so easily...

Is it a " looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane " type thing.. Functional strength, that doesn't translate to the Football side of it? Technique? Heart? Nastiness?

If you seriously watch him closely, you'd think his number one weakness is he's as weak as I've ever seen physically out of an OL, but he's not so...What is it?

What ever it is he has no business even sniffing a starting role.

    Dumping is what he did.

Pickett played one drive and got his TD. Ridder played over half the time and got a goose egg with being surronded by starters.

Also jets are a crap team who didn't even pay their starters last night. Ridder was going against worse than 2nd tier players, he was also going against players who will end up being cut today.

Dumping? He averaged over 14 yds/ per completion...Pickett averaged FIVE, and 12 in his two appearances

He hits players in stride. Can do dumps, middle field and long. He reads plays and it looks like he knows the playbook. And he can adjust to how a WR moves.

Just like analysis said months before the draft, pickett is the only who should be considered in first round and then the drop off after that should be in the third.

However I rather trubisky start due to our line is junk. And he can scramble better.

If we had ridder the order would be trubisky, Rudolph before him.

They are speaking highly of Dobbs in Cleveland but as you say it's only preseason.
I think Browns will be going with Brissett to start season. I'd love to have Cleveland in Pittsburgh for opener. Actually I'd root for Dobbs as long as it wasn't against us.

Is it, that hard, to find a true center?
