Numbers Crunch

pwp, I just don't see that kind of quality at corner in this draft. not saying I don't want a coup[le of DB's, I do, but two starters? I don't see them.

I'm all for Anthony harris from Virginia as one guy at safety and I'd team him with shamarko and see what happens. I think that could go a long way in fixing the backend. gay, blake and McCain stay and I'd like to see a free agent corner brought in and a mid round corner added. then we are not gambling all our eggs on so so draft picks.

I still think cortez could play free safety and Mitchell strong safety. I'd be letting troy walk away and will allen and Robert golden. webb, fogg, sullen are sitting here with some time in the system and I don't want to throw that away until I see what they can do on the field. maybe nothing but maybe something, same as any draft pick, but without the knowledge of a year. they also have a little more size to them.

I think if we are going for the quick fix, it will come in the form of a free agent, not a draft pick. if we can spend some money and get a #1 to team with gay and allow blake and McCain to play nickel and dime we can free up our early draft picks for other spots. harris could probably be had in the 2nd round. the kid can play safety with some corner type ball skills. we need some safety ball skills.

IMHO you need both. BUT our secondary needs fixing badly. I wouldn't be surprised to see at the very least 3 db's brought in whether thru FA or the draft. We have to improve back there, AS PWP said Pats/Bronco's might put 50 on us.
