Not sure but I can remember the camera cutting to him and seeing that and it rubbed me the wrong way. I have coached HS for 10 yrs and now head coach our middle school because of time and a new baby but I would be going nuts about not being able to pick up a yd.

At the same time, we caught up on a significant deficit on Sunday night specifically because there was no panic, no public displays of dissatisfaction - just, right guys, get your heads down and lets catch up. And it worked, up until Cutler scrambled and we dropped the ball a few too many times.

Tomlin has his own approach, and that's why he does the things he does. Whether it's successful or not, well, that's one debate. But to make out that he really doesn't care if the team plays badly is just naïve.

Ain't happening. Maybe you could argue that it should but it won't. With the patience of the Rooneys, the Steelers could go 0-16 for the next 5 years and our head coach would be...Mike Tomlin. Stability you know.

I'm not sure that was quite the approach for coaches before Noll, though...

I would imagine that the Rooney's would make their decision on a lot of factors. Going 8-8 is bad, for this team. But management like the Rooney's are not just going to go off two numbers and the fact that Tomlin delivers bland press conferences. They'll look at the biggest possible picture before deciding to remove somebody they've invested a lot of money and time in.

Maybe that means a few losing seasons with no coaching change. Maybe it doesn't. I wouldn't just put it down to "patience", though. There's a lot of football acumen up there.
