Since we spent our 2nd pick on a Wr, do we go running back in the first? or defensive line or DB in the first?

They just tendered Warren so I doubt they are going RB rd 1, I certainly hope not.

To me it’s DL all the way with DB the second option if the board doesn’t break right for a DL.

Agreed, though I think they will go running back in the third round. The only good thing about letting Harris go now is that they are doing it when the draft is deep at running back. They need one to share the load with Warren.

DL would be my guess. Which means they’ll do something crazy like selecting Dart.

If we do sign Rodgers then I wouldn't be completely against drafting Dart but if we resign Fields then there is no sense in bringing in a rookie QB. I like Kenneth Grant in the first but would be pleased with Derrick Harmon.

RB should never be round 1.

There are a lot of running backs available so taking one in the first would be a waste

Defense or defense in the first

I'm kind of leaning towards defense.

I think QB is definitely in consideration at this point. I like Warren, but there are a lot of high end backs that wont be around for day 3. Do we trade back and grab one (and a DL/CB), or do we forego that entirely and throw all our eggs in the Jaylen Warren basket? Lots of options. Still need a few signings too, we have 48 million after the DK trade. Would think there's definitely a QB and a starter on the DL or CB in there. Slay is a one year rental, so no guarantee we wont add there again...

Unless Will Johnson miraculously falls to pick 21, it is going to be an IDL. Question remains as to which IDL specifically?!

    Kenneth Grant or Derrick Harmon?!

    Take your pick.

Hell, neither might not be there by pick 21.

Running Back then?! Steelers did meet with both Jeanty and Hampton... so there is that to consider.

I'm thinking D-line or CB are the main targets.
QB and RB are dark horse picks....
With no 2nd rounder, our margin of error is fairly slim..... whoever the pick is has to be a grand slam for us

I don't know what they are going to do. The Steelers could trade Pickens away for a second or third-round pick, extra capital to roll the dice on a mid-round QB.

They need to draft a QB every year, even in the lower rounds, until they find one. There isn't much in Free Agency, Darnold is signed, nobody else has much appeal.

Now Khan is considering Rogers or Wilson....

I've lost track of what we have left as far as draft picks.

But the first pick, you have to come away with an impact player. In this draft it is DL/OL/CB.
They really need to trade back into the 2nd, as an aggressive GM would do in this circumstance. I don't have a lot of confidence in Omar/Weidel.

I think this is what we have and maybe my guess....
    RD 1 - DL/CB
    Rd 3 - CB
    RD 4 - OL
    RD 5 - Trade
    RD 6 - Move up
    RD 7 - Trade
    Rd 7 - Trade
The trades would be to get in the 2nd round, whatever combination needed.. not saying 3 picks for a #2.
It's more saying I would gladly trade these picks.
I'd also like to move that 6th rounded into the 4th or 5th.

I want to come out of the draft with at least 4 great selections.
If I could trade a player I might be up for that too..
But it is way early and I imagine they have another FA move or two and that can reshape my draft.

I am worried they go after
    Trey Lance
    Cooper Rush
    Mac Jones
I have not heard a word about any of these and that is great, it should be that way.

I said in the draft room, I can't imagine it's not DL in rd 1. If they don't get one in the first they'll have to wait till pick #83. Probably at least 10-12 DT/3-4 DE prospects will be taken by then. Without that 2nd rd pick, it really changes the whole draft.

I was excited when we got DK, but now the possibility of a 42 year old qb has squashed that. I would over reach for the Ole Miss QB.

There are a lot of questions about Will Johnson injured last season, now he's dealing with another injury no work out at the Combine and won't work out at Michigan's pro day.

Or they could trade down in the first round to acquire some more draft picks.

I'd love that. With a couple exceptions, the players projected to be available for us are very similar to players that might be there at #40.

Just sign Russell Wilson for like 25 million APY he's the best option available.
