Now that it looks like Mitchell will be cut...

...let's look at who we should draft.

Obviously AL Fitzpatrick will be gone way before our pick.

Jones will also be gone by pick 20.

So now who will be there in reach for us.

Ronnie Harrison, AL is poor in coverage; I think we are sick of a S who can't cover, I say no to him.

I like Stf. Justin Reid; not great at any one thing, but good at everything, including coverage and run support plus he might be able to be had in the 2nd or 3rd round, allowing us to draft a top ILB beforehand. Plus, coming from Stanford, he is smart, which would be a nice change of pace to Mitchell and his dumb brain.

Deshon Elliot, TX, might be a decent pick later. He has good instincts, but is a little on the slow side.

Jordan White, a PITT product might be decent as a 4th rounder, but he's a little on the small side.

 

I think they have to cut S Mitchell to save $6m on our cap, and because he's not worth anywhere near that amount of money. Even so, we still have Davis, Hilton, Wilcox, and Golden. I'm not saying we shouldn't draft a safety just that I don't think it's as much of a need as you do.

I think we can get a decent safety in the 2nd round. There are a few safeties you did not mention, Marcus Allen, is probably a late 1st, early 2nd round guy. Kyzier White, Jessie Bates, and Troy Apke should be available in the bottom of the 2nd round.

 

I like Reid over Harrison, Reid played every position in the secondary at Stanford. Jessie Bates in the second round would be a good get.

 

Terrell Edmund's. White. Harrison. Pick 2. They will have use near the LOS in the hybrid in run support and have enough coverage skills the help out with TEs and RBs. Use Davis, Wilcox, M. Golden and Allen as the FS in our D. Allen could pull double duty as a corner too.
