    Get Off cowhers dick!!

It took him how many years to win a Super Bowl. It took tomlin how long??
Kevin Colbert picks the personnel, mainly. A coach is given the tools and told to teach what they have been given; make them winners.

Cowher was great and I love his style. Tomlin is a different let's get to work style. The nfl is a job first and a game second to all the people involved. Ask the referees.

Tomlin is a better coach because he expects more from the players. profressionalism not poise.

    I'll take tomlin.

I'm not on anyone's dick, I just don't believe Tomlin is a good coach. As for 95% of what you said, it's irrelevant. I don't care how many years it took him to win a SB with a team Cowher put together for him, nor do I care that he expects professionalism and not poise, whatever that even means.

I stand by what I said, Tomlin isn't a great coach and it will show in time.

they just missed on few big plays.

Brown just missed a td and Cotchery was hit with a turf snipper and Wallace almost had a big play on that floater Ben threw to him.

they were just a little off today on offense. they usually look bad after the bye, but atleast they got the win.

1-3 while the Ravens are 4-1 would have made the division probably out of reach.

Mendy was great and Redman also played well.

Timmons looked like the #1 pick he was.

Harrison's presence made a big difference today for the deffense.

Tomlin has a career .672 winning percentage (or somethign similarily ridiculous) and has 2 Super Bowl appearances under his belt. He's doing somethign right. Yes, having Ben makes things a lot easier (look at Belichick w/Brady & Dungy w/Manning) but winning in the NFL is a fickle thing, and you don't mess with his record.

I'm speaking in coach style and what they praise.
    Play with poise
    The standard is the standard.

Tomlin will have 2 rings if only that Kevin colbert has done a great job with personel.

Most coaches don't even get 1. How is he a bad coach

Tomlin has a ring on his finger. I wouldn't dare try to name the coaches that don't.

Tomlin is a top 5 coach in the league, no doubt about it. The "he won with Cowhers team" is a weak argument. Look around at all the teams over the years that have a ton of talent that don't win, doesn't mean jack **** if you don't have a guy to bring it all together. Plus, what was the teams record under Cowher his last year? 6-10? 8-8?, don't remember exactly but it was bad, so that's the team Tomlin took over, not a SB team. There are some areas that Tomlin can improve on but he's still one of the best in the game.

I guess we'll see in time. I personally think he's canned within 5 years, and considering the Rooney's don't fire head coaches, that's saying a lot. But if we can remember to resurrect this thread in 5 years, I'll gladly admit I'm wrong if that is the case

I just see this team slowly getting worse every year. I hope you're right though.

That's a hard point to argue when he's on his sixth year, has been to two Superbowls, and has only missed the playoffs once.

Penalties galore and a continued abysmal red zone offense.

They are ranked 8th this year. Rezone is much improved.

Sure is. It's a bold claim I know, but I generally have no faith in Tomlin to make hard decisions when they're necessary, to create an atmosphere of accountability, or to fix areas of concern as they arise. You gotta admit though, a lot of the players Tomlin had to work with over the year carried over from the team Cowher built. If 5 years from now we are still a contender every year (although I don't believe we were every truly a contender last year, and I'm not sold on this year either), then I'll happily admit I was wrong.

Inconsistent kicker ?? C'mon GB hell the guy is 8 for 8 on the year. That's pretty consistent in my book.

"Young Money Crew" needs to catch the darn ball, otherwise very satisfying victory.

Were you really "satisfied", watching that fist half of "Play"???
I am usually the last one to be all "gloom and doom", after a win... but, that really was just sad... I couldn`t help but feel we ESCAPED with a win(I`ll still take it), rather than "Earned" a win...
We needed it. I will take it.
But, I think our offense played a hell of a lot better in the loss to Oakland, than this win against Philly...
Hopefully, this was just a slip-up, and we will click in all phases against Tenessee, Thurs Nite...
But it sure felt like a step in the wrong direction, while I was watching it unfold today... :hmmm:
    :yeehaw: GO STEELERS!!!

We'll take one in the win column...Pittsburgh rules in the Battle of Pennsylvania...we can build on a 2-2 record...we've got to solve our Red Zone problem.

i was thinking this same thing GB.

ben has to quit missing these easy completions. for as good as he's been playing this year, he still gets excited and throws some bad balls on wide open easy plays.

Eagles have a darn good defense. Made Flacco look terrible.

Eagles have a darn good offense, when they don't shoot themselves in the foot. For example Vick's fumble at the goal line.

The Steelers beat a very good team today, something neither the Giants or Ravens could do. Except for injuries to Troy and Woodley, all positives.

pouncey has to quit worrying about his jawing battle with whoever it was because that is why he had two bad snaps. they were jawing at each other and thats what was on his mind. it's easy to say but he's to important to not keep his mind on first things first. besides that he played well again.

after all these pithy exchanges - I'm still trying to figure out what "NOT impresses" means in the thread Title. Never took French but perhaps it's a French expression. I'm also confused in a different thread about how Troy has a "torn calm". I know he meditates a lot and is a cool character but having a "torn calm" seems like it would be against his religion or something.

Today's game almost made me yearn for replacement refs. (almost)
