Bell won't help much at this point unless he can play DB or LB.

It amazes me how anyone can support Bell’s actions at this point?

I know that I couldn't possibly care less. He's already gone as far as I'm concerned.

That doesn't mean he isn't showing up, I expect him to show up during the bye week.

Ghosting is the new wave of the generation. I find it disrespectful as hell for the majority of situations, this being one of them.

I get it if he does not want to communicate without his agent to the Steelers front office, but his teammates are a different thing.

Just another thing that reflects his character. A simple "I'll see you week 7" or something shows respect. It doesn't have to be much. His lack of communication is about the most annoying thing I find about all of this. He's acting like a 3rd grader throwing a temper tantrum because he didn't get what he wanted.

Why would Bell tell Jeremy Fowler his plans of showing up during the bye week, that's like three weeks away I'm not surprised he hasn't talked to his teammates yet.

That article kind of makes it sound like either Bell and his agent are completely unreasonable or that they are both idiots. Either way we don't need unreasonable and we have enough idiots. Also, I don't believe anything ESPN or the NFL network says without corroboration from people who aren't former players or coaches.

Yeah, I had read something like this yesterday. They key for me was that the team supposedly offered $20 million guaranteed before the start of the offseason, not $10 million as was previously reported. If this is true, then I believe he is truly delusional and will never make up what he’s losing by turning down that offer.

If david johnson got a short term 31 million guranteed contract I'm sure bell could.

IMO they should give bell the organization.

With him we won 3 rings and without him we are 1-2-1.

    The stats show the truth!

Johnson got $31 million guaranteed, but the contract totaled only $38 million over 3 years. That’s an average of under $13 million/year. While he might be able to get that deal, I don’t see anything out there that suggests that he would.

Bell supposedly turned down a contract that would have paid him $47 million over the 1st 3 years, with $20 million guaranteed. If that wasn’t good enough for him, do you think Johnson’s deal would have been? Do you think he’d take the deal that Johnson got over the Steelers’ offer, and sacrifice $9 million just to have more of a smaller sum be guaranteed? Do you think the man who wants to be paid like both a WR and a RB would settle for less than $13 million/year when there are currently 15 WRs with contract averages of $13 million or more? I strongly doubt that he would view Johnson’s deal as superior to the Steelers’ offer.

Bell could probably get Johnson’ deal, even with his suspension and injury history. He’s not going to get Gurley’s deal which has $45 million guaranteed, but still only averages $14.375 million (less than the average for 11 WRs). Bell will be 27 when he hits free agency next year. He has a lot of wear and tear, a history of missing games with injuries, and a past that suggests a higher risk of getting into trouble off the field than guys like Gurley or Johnson. He will also be coming off of a season where he abandoned a team that had SB aspirations to line his pockets. We’ll find out next year what he gets, but I think we’ll find out that accepting the Steelers’ $47 million over 3 years will be looking pretty good to him by comparison to what the market will bear. Buyer beware.

If bell got cut after next season he only sees the rest of that 20. If johnson get cut next season he sees 31 million of that 38. That's the reasoning as even if he gets cut he still gets that money. That's why they go for the gurantees. For example kirk cousins. They can cut him next ye and he sees all of that 85 million or whatever it is. Odell if he gets cut still gets that 65 million of that 95.
