I posed this same question a few weeks back when I asked a simple yes or no question
do you enjoy watching the Steeler defense? I found out thru that unscientific poll that the majority
of the fans that responded to that poll, DID NOT ENJOY WATCHING THE PGH STEELERS DEFENSE AS IT IS BEING
PLAYED NOW.. It is a sad day here in the Steel City when you get responses like this and yours. I am old
enough to have seen the Steelers thru the bad (pre Dynasty) and the good. They are just
not to enjoyable to watch right now, Will it change?

I will watch them until I am 6 feet under. While the start of this year has me scratching my head and not very hopeful for the rest of the year I won't give up hope. How many people wrote off the Giants last year? I am hopeful we fix our glaring weaknesses and get better week to week until the end of the year. If not we get a high draft pick that needs to be a defensive playmaker.

I will always watch them. Times can't always be good, just like in life your going to have good times and bad times. Hopefully the good out weigh the bad and typically with the Steelers the good season usually out weigh the bad seasons.

I am an NC steelers fan, always have been always will be.I bleed black and gold. There aint no way thats ever gonna change. You just gotta learn to take the bad with the good and let it be.I will always display my steelers gear and wear my jerseys regardless of wins or loses. We got six superbowls that says a lot in itself, that usually shuts up most people that try to rub it in when they lose a game.I know it hurts to lose it makes me sick on my stomach but after a few days it gets better and I am ready for the next game.Steelers forever here through and through.

Sports are supposed to be entertaining. If it has become too serious or it is not entertaining for you and is, therefore, not good for your health or your relationship, I agree time to take a break from the Steelers at least. It is silly to say you can't follow another team or start a hobby on Sundays or your not a Steelers fan. I was born in Pgh a long time ago and have enjoyed them but have not consistently zealously followed them. There are other things to do other than get all upset that the Steelers lost.

Ummmm - ask anyone who lived through the 50s and 60s what THAT was like. It's a wonder that there were any fans to be had after the first 40 years of the franchise. It's been a bad 2 out of 3 WEEKS and people are jumping overboard! It hasn't even BEEN a bad year yet.

We are fans of the WINNINGEST team of the last 40+ years. I don't think people really appreciate that. While we've had up and down years from time to time - we have more wins than ANY other NFL team over a 4-DECADE span. So - if people want to jump ship - quit watching - switch to the Ratbirds, Bungles, Clowns or whomever, it just doesn't make sense. Those people are choosing to support teams that are willing to lose more than they win so that they can WIN once in awhile. The Steelers make WINNING the goal for EVERY season. Sometimes it works - sometimes not - but it has been the most successful formula in the NFL. If you're going to jump ship - move to the Patriots. They're the only other team that is building THAT kind of organization.

Lastly - when the Steelers start stringing together wins - I just hope that the same ones that are on here saying that they're not watching the Steelers anymore just stay away. Please don't come back thumping your chest and saying what a great game this player had or what a great play so-and-so made. Just stay away and make sure you just check in to see who won or lost. Stick to your word, and don't watch.

Bandwagon post is definitely bandwagon. I loath fair-weather steeler fans more than die hard ravens fans. At least I can respect ravens fans, I can't say the same for your kind.

MDB I was a kid then. I was forced to watch every game. Didn't even know what football was then. Even thought my CUZ Dick Haley, Todd's dad played for the Steelers from 1961-64. Never met Dick, Todd or Razz Felton also a cuz. We got a big family

All I can tell you is...you win some you lose some. When we have a easy schedule we always start rough. remember we went to the super bowl when everyone said we are washed up and there no way 6 seed can go let alone win. It hurts me to lose but They always come back and play tough. win or lose fan for life :frustrated:

This is a pure knee jerk reaction. Let me know how long this goes on.

I put up with the abysmal teams of the 80's. There's no turning back now.

Even if they went 0-16 and I had to wear a bag on my head I will still always root for the Steelers!

Ouch, thanks for bringing back those painful memories

I agree with you completely. There was a time through a lot of the 80s and 90s that I got in the habit of saying "Well, there's always next year," but i never stopped watching. You are exactly right that we've been pretty spoiled lately.

You know, I like your comments here about the fact the Steelers have no desire and do not play hard any longer. I concur with this observation as I live some 480 miles south from "Steeler Country" and my glasses I assure you are not rose colored.

I did not think they would be .500 this year, and they are making me look like a prophet. They stink and they stink from the top down. I think it's called Pirateitis.

I've been a Steelers fan since the 70's. The 80's were really bad. I never thought once of switching teams or to stop watching them. Sure I get upset and frustrated at them but the Steelers will always be my team. Its only the 3rd game.

People that feel this way about sports have serious issues.
