No Love from the experts and I am fine with that. All I see on tv today is that Eli played bad. Nothing on how the Steelers played good D and kept him in check.

I was looking forward to all the coverage of the game this week since I am from NY but most of it has been disappointing, it's the Giants played bad, not that the Steelers played good. And haven't heard anything about the lucky breaks the Giants got with the bad calls. :bscow: Oh well, we kicked their ass, we all know it, even if they aren't given their props.

No idea what you guys are listening to, but all day on Sirius they've been talking about how good the Steelers are and how they're now the favourite to win the division. Also heard similar things on the NFL network and on TSN.

The steelers are getting lots of respect.

You two obviously don't listen to NFL Radio on Sirius. This game got a boat load of coverage today and the Steelers got tons of praise and credit.

    Tons.

Well if you are from NY and you're listening to local radio what do you expect to hear?

Naturally the locals are going to be focused on what their team didn't do. And their concerns are going to be with their team and why they lost and not heaping praise on their opponents.

Well I've actually seen both sides on NFLNW, Steelers are now voted the best complete team in the AFC after that performance in New York(Jersey) but when talking about the Giants, Eli and their defense played horrible

    From the locals?

Good luck. Try listening to local radio here after a Steelers loss. Its the same.

As far as the hosts? What are they supposed to do? Do you think the typical NY fans wants to hear what the Steelers did right or what the Giants did wrong? If they gushed all day about the Steelers, people would tune out. They couldn't care less about Pittsburgh.

Yes, Mike Francesa does it all the time. He'll talk about the good things the other team did and the bad things the home team did. I didn't get a chance to listen to him today though. I'm not asking anyone to gush over them, just evaluate the game. Anyway, I was just agreeing with the OP that I haven't heard much praise for the Steelers.

I was gonna say the same thing about NFL Network. Last night Deion said he thinks we could "see this matchup again this year if you know what I mean..." I think I DO know what he means and I reeeeeeeally hope he's right! Without a little help from their friends the gnats only put up 6 legitimate points.

It means that the Steelers are getting respect, just apparently not from whatever you were listening to. Not sure why you expect unbiased radio from a local station in NY, that's not going to happen. People are biased on radio all the time, they're almost never unbiased.

I really give the Sirius guys credit though. If they are biased, they hide it very well. They are very professional and fair, and they were definitely giving the Steelers praise.

Joe and Evan, Mike Franseca and Michael Kay all give unbiased opinions when breaking down a game. Unfortunately I didn't get to spend alot of time listening to the radio today and missed their programs, so far though, I haven't heard them getting respect. Never said that no one in the whole world wasn't giving them any, just that I and the OP haven't heard it yet.

Was listening to Pat Kirwan on the radio today, he said he was watching the Steelers with Bill Cowher. Apparently Bill was pretty shocked at some of the calls. He was also apparently unimpressed by our fake FG attempt.

But yeah, the guys on Sirius were very open about the bad calls, especially the Ryan Clark one. That one got Pat Kirwan fired up.

I absolutely love Pat Kirwan. He's awesome. Great insight and analysis. Tomlin, you really sjouke look into a Sirius script to get the NFL Radio. Lots of great stuff. Well worth the $$$ for NFLR alone.

Yeah, most people weren't impressed with the fake fg. The Clark pf was bad, watching that in real speed, no way was that a late hit. What did mad dog have to say about any of this? Did you get to listen to him? He's probably still in his glory since the Giants won the WS.

I agree. I've had it for 5 years or so on and off, and they've given it to me for free on different occasions when I've threatened to cancel. Lots of good NFL news and analysis.

I've thought about it, a friend of mine has it. I could use some new flavors, all the ones I mentioned that I listen to can annoy me in some form or another. Francesa is arrogant, Kay can be too high and mighty and Joe and Evan you sometimes feel like you're listening to a couple guys in a bar.

The Sirius guys are awesome, especially Tim Ryan and Pat Kirwan. Easily the two best guys on radio, and it's not close. Adam Schein can be a bit high and mighty, or at least comes across that way, but he's still good to listen to. Rich Gannon balances things out, he's pretty low key.

They do have some stinkers. I don't like Gil Brandt. Seems like a nice old gentleman, but he will never say anything bad about anyone. Ross Tucker is another great one. Shein and Bob Papa are good too. A lot of good radio there.

They even had Shannon Sharpe a few years ago. LOVED that guy and was sorry to see him go. Listening to him maul the English language while trying to keep those lips from flapping out of control was epic.
