Its funny you bring up the 90's Bills. Everytime I hear no-huddle my mind goes straight to the K-Gun, don't know why but it does and to the point I'm not seeing how Ben is running it at a slower pace. The Bills went to the SB but lost all 4. They had a tired defense.

I still don't want the no-huddle ran exclusively but it has its place and totally removing it would be a huge mistake.

I knew someone was going to point that out :lolol: They should have won one of them though! But it's like lotto, gotta be in it to win it!

I don't think a tired defense was the reason they lost though, they just ran into superior teams, NFC was on a roll back then, much better teams in that conference then the AFC.

I read somewhere though that they won't be running it exclusively. I'd be in favor of opening each game that way and employing it in the 4th quarter and sprinkled in here and there throughout the game.

    :this!:

Correct me if I am wrong, but don't defenses sniff out the patterns/plays when and opposing offense breaks out too much no-huddle? This is what you want to avoid. Used properly, the no-huddle could be killer. Mix it with planned out drives by Haley. The opposing defense won't know wtf is going on. :lolol:

I love the no-huddle, and the pace we usually run it, when we use it mid-quarter, not just as a hurry up offense.
I think Ben calls good plays out of it for the most part, and I`m glad he is getting input from Haley, and players on the sidelines.
Aside from being more difficult to run on the road, one thing I hadn`t thought about, was brought up by Tomlin in his presser.
He mentioned that with the advances in technology, when you play a prime time game, or nationally televised game, the Qb`s verbal signals come across clear as day, on the television broadcast.
It puts a lot of the audio communication, "on tape", for other teams to dissect, and interpret ("codebreak", if you will),.
So they need to be consious of that, and not over-use t in those situations, and pay attention to changing the verbiage, more often, after games where it is exposed more on the telecasts.
    I hadn`t even considered that, but I believe it`s a valid point.
Esp, since I had noticed during different games this year, of different phrases, different QB`s would call out, to either change a play, or "Alert! Alert!", their teammates to a certain change, or whatever they may be signaling.
I was crackin up listening to Peyton, one game.
I forget exactly, but I kept hearin him call out things like "Orange! Orange!".... "Bannanna! Bannanna!"... "Peach Peach!!"...
Sumthin along those lines... And I was trying t figure out what changes those corresponded to, and how much of it was smokescreen...
At any rate, I had overlooked that aspect, as being sumthing that would effect whether they chose to use the no huddle.
But Tomlin clearly said it was one factor they took into consideration, when they asked themselves a "certain set of scripted questions, if you will, in determining if the no-huddle would be more or less advantageous to deploy in different circumstances, persay"...
Or somethin like that, I am paraphrasing, a bit, but not by much...
    GO STEELERS!!!

Are talking about in the shotgun formation? There was a play where Ben changed the original call and switched the RB from his right side to his left and called what looked like a draw play if I remember correctly. I saw that play coming from a mile away and so did the Lions.

Yeah, that was the one. I'm curious what the original play call was there.

Thought this part was funny ... :lolol:

"This is not bullying, but I have (rookie quarterback Landry Jones) check out the game tape," says Roethlisberger."I watch the game tape, but I have him watch and (backup Bruce Gradkowski) does it, too. â?¦ We all watch and see what we can pick up to see if there's anything that can help us so we know what's on film and what's not on film."
