Now ,as you notice i 'm back in full support of our lovely team ,i was thinking that we are pretty set to have a competive team in a couple of seasons having a lot of draft picks next year only
( big only )problem is what we do at qb , would be nice to land Mendoza but he will probably out of reach maybe trading watt and use some first rounds next seasons can be done but in any case i will try to keep rodgers one more year and see what howard is would be nice to have already the qb of the future on the roster then full fill all the picks we have in to the team and start from There please khan work your magiic

I am willing to bet we move up into the early 10's ish (first and a third) to try to get a QB. It won't be the first QB off the board but maybe the 3rd ish? Which is pretty similar to the Ben situation. Grab the 3rd QB at 11.

Its still hard to tell who the top QB will be. Mendoza, Sellers and Mateer seem to be the leaders right now, but lots of time left. Nussmeier, Leavitt, Beck and even Moore have a chance to make it in the conversation. Some guys have fallen off (Allar, Klubnik) but will have a shot at getting themselves back in the conversation too.

We must play Howard as the next man up when Rodgers goes down. Only then will we get a good read on him before the 2026 draft.

It won't happen unfortunately. Rudolph was brought in to backup Rodgers. And judging by the 7.5 million contract he signed they believe in him. Howard does not even appear on teams depth chart.

It'll be hard to find a franchise guy when you're picking # 32!

    It won’t happen

Right now Mason would give the team the best chance at a win

    They will play to win

    As they should

    Mendoza from Indiana??
I myself would like to see him play a real team before all of that. Illinois is the only kind of real team he's played, and they won't be around come late playoffs.

I could never see Tomlin doing that especially if we are in the hunt when Rodgers goes down.

We have Rudolph for 2026 unless we opt to get rid of him. If Rodgers only plays 2025, we go to 2026 with Rudolph, Thomson and Howard. The Steelers have a history of going with experience over talent. I don't see Thomson, Howard or any new draft getting the starting spot. Are they going to roll into the season with Rudolph being #1 and the others behind him? History says no.

There are more QB shenanigans to come I am sure. The only way Howard or Thomson ever have a shot to be the starter next year is IF Rodgers and Rudolph are both either unable to play due to injury or are doing so badly over a prolonged stretch that a hail Mary move has to be made. With #1 and #2 out, then Howard or Thompson get to play and then have some kind of a miracle run. That is the only way either of them (more specifically Howard) have any chance to play as #1 next year.

Heck, I am not even sure if Rudolph will be here in 2026. They could trade him off and look to grab the next Fields/Wilson/Rodgers QB. Maybe Flacco could complete his journey thru the AFC North......lol

I just popped one to celebrate the awesome Pitt Panthers win. Have to control the beer drinking if I want to stay up for MLB game. Made it to inning 11 last night. Woke up on couch with Mariners dumping champagne on heads.

Of course the coal in a SB, despite the huge hods against that. The next is get a win or more in the post season and get the imperilment off the back. To get there you off to get in the show, one less we are totally out, Howard is not in the thoughts of getting time.

I agree in point, but given that place and say for instance it was Howard, they need to work with him to provide the best for the team, which means a limited out look on what that preparation is. If he has potential then they could open the competiition in camp. Long shot for sure, but the potential could be there.

Post Ben, open competition in training camp at the QB position seems to consist of a good look at the QBs and then going with the one they planned to go with a month earlier......lol

A lot variables next year. Is Rodgers coming back?

If Rodgers says he is returning then we might not draft a QB next year at least early. It would be Thomson as the odd man out: Rodgers, Mason, Howard

If Rodgers retires: Thomson is still the odd man out. It would be Mason, Howard, new draft pick... I like Sellers. I really like Lagway but I dont think he will declare next year as he is only a sophomore.

Mason will be on a short leash if he doesn't win and play well right out of the gate, then we see Howard. I dont envision Howard seeing the field earlier unless there are injuries to Rodgers and Mason

There is a lot of speculation at this point. Will MT be back, not so much by anyone except his decision. Probably, but who really knows. If he does hang it up, what direction do they go? I doubt the process changes much, but until this year is over I would not bet on anything.

Allar now done for the season after suffering a left leg injury late against Northwestern. He's used all of his NCAA eligibility, so that really sucks for him.
